Period pains at 29 weeks?

Hi all,

Last night I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep as I was in a lot of pain. It felt like menstrual cramps - back pain, hugely sore uterus, a "need to poo" feeling and shooting pains through the legs. Don't know how long it lasted but I was eventually able to get to sleep.

I could still feel baby moving and she's moving around fine this morning as well.

Was this just Braxton Hicks, or what? I'm terrified of going into labour this early.

I have a MW appointment on Monday. I was going to wait until then, but if it happens again, should I call this hospital?

This is my first, by the way.... thanks for any help!

i would definatly mention it to the MW,
that really doesnt sound great esspecially the bit about needing to poo, (did you? or did it just feel like you did)

good sign is you are feeling baby move this mornning,
and that these signs seem to have stopped!

however if this starts again...... i would NOT wait till your appointment,
i would phone her and/or go straight to the LW.

good luck!

Hi Alison,

Didn't poo... it was that feeling like intense menstrual cramps where your colon is irritated. (I used to get diarrhea during that time of the month and it's a familiar feeling.) Seems to be OK this morning but my tummy's still sore. If it happens again I'll definitely call the hospital hotline.

Thanks for the good wishes!
