I've been having pains that have made me double over this morning (3 in the last hour) accompanied by the runs.

Not sure if I'm being fussy and its a dicky tummy or if I should call the labour ward, I'm 32+4 so def not ready yet.

Got a kind of gripey pain but don't want to phone and find out its just something I ate! Also I had bad backache last night and overnight. Am I thinking too much? Probably

Wwyd?

I would call just in case, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

What harm will it do to call the midwife/labour ward? The worst that can happen is that they will fob you off and tell you to wait and see for a couple of hours...

Definitely phone. They'll probably want to see you to monitor for a bit but where's the harm in that. Huge potential problem from not phoning.

I phoned the labour ward who said it sounds like diarrhoea and they wouldn't really want me in as it would shut down the whole ward.

Was told to go home and rest and drink lots. Hav been in bed most of the day and feel like absolute crap. Def a bug. Feel really hot but as soon as I move covers I feel freezing. Am now so worried bout baby. She has been moving today but I still worry.

Anyone else had a tummy bug and high temp in 3rd trimester. Really don't want it to harm baby Sad

Glad you phoned them, sorry you're feeling dreadful though. I had gastroenteritis twice when pregnant with DS, once in the first trimester and once in the last. Aside from the vomiting making me lose continence (sorry tmi) in the last trimester and making me feel dreadful, it didn't cause ny problems for DS at all. He was still 13 days late!!
Hope you feel better soon.

Dont worry about baby OP - I was hospitalised the other week with suspected appendicitus and kept on nil by mouth (although had IV fluids) for 36+ hours. Had severe vomitting, lots of pain, dehydration etc (18wks pg). Baby was absolutely fine, kicking away. They take everything they need from your body and sod the consequence to you so even if you do have a nasty bug your baby will be having a lovely time!!

Hope you feel better soon, just keep the fluids up and if you start throwing up and cant keep any down phone your GP and ask for the chemist to get some anti-emetics delivered. Its not worth dehydrating and being rushed into hospital.
