Hii
Im around 9 weeks 4 days and I'm suffering beyond belief with these awful horrific headaches, they're
Making me so irritable and snappy I just wanna lie down in a dark room all day.... Which isn't possible because my DS Can talk the ears off anyone and i work. Doctor says I can take paracetamol but my issue is with the leaflets inside all the bloody paracetamol boxes says ' do not take if pregnant' anyone know which tablets I can actually take ? Without fearing I'm going to damage my lil bubba?
Thanks
Xx

The leaflets all say that, what they mean is 'don't sue us'. Paracetamol, afaik, is fine in pregnancy.

I don't want to give medical advixe but I will say that I have been taking a single paraceramol tablet at a timefor goddam awful headaches - I didn't even read the leaflet, my Dr said 'paracetamol is ok' so I've just been taking the smallest about to do the job!

Take any, according to the appropriate dosage. Paracetamol is fine.

Paracetamol is fine, don't mess about only taking one though - take the full dose.

Have you considered a migracap OP? Possibly not for the office as they're extremely fetching :o, but you could wear it at home when a lie down isn't possible.

To reinforce my first point - its easy to get into a cycle of taking the minimum dose of several weeks/days. However, if you do that you're highly likely to give yourself rebound headaches. Better to take the maximum dose in a 24 hour period and knock it on the head (fnar fnar) than drag out the min dose over a longer period. That's true for anyone, pregnant or not.

Mine eased off at around 17-18 weeks this time. And after I had DS1 I had no headaches for nearly two years. That alone made getting knocked up with DS2 worth it :o (currently 21wks).

I also found acupuncture helpful last time, largely because it sent me to sleep.

I swear I will see "do not use whilst pregnant" in cornflakes packets next!
Seriously, any plain old paracetamol is fine, just avoid anything with added extras like caffeine, or any combinations with ibuprofen in it.
If you see your dr he will likely prescribe cocodamol as a slightly stronger alternative if the paracetamol isn't providing relief.

Been suffering with headaches all the way through, taking paracetamol as needed all the time. It's fine - both the GP and midwife have told me so.

Slow, how frequently are you taking paracetamol?
