2 day over now and irregular period cramps and back ache are leading to NOWT!

And if one more persons tries to give me some 'helpful' advice I shall tell them
"Yes, I have been having sex whilst eating curried pineapple"
Fuck off!!!!

With you 100%. Am now one day over, having had strong Braxton hicks, period like pains and lower back ache on and off over the last four or so days. I know it is probably all helping to do something but as it is not yet resulting in a baby I am getting v frustrated!

DH travels a lot for work and can only stay UK based for so long before he will have to start travelling again. Hence every day DC is late will mean less time DH can stay at home with us when baby arrives. Come on baby!!

Clocking in at 6 days overdue! Sweep booked tomorrow but succumbed to the Castor oil this morning as was also feeling very bunged up! Regular tightening sensations now...every five minutes or so. Maybe, just maybe they aren't braxton hicks?

Good luck to you both!

Naughty babies!! Castor oil you say..?
I feel for you about DH having to work abroad, he must be desperate for things to get going!

I think things have stopped now, but I had a good time watching Strictly Ballroom (the film) so it's alright. And it wasn't like the toilet trips were intense - they were quite gentle, not like laxatives at all so I recommend the castor oil on it's gentle poo coaxing alone - hahahaha, omg, the things pregnancy leads you to say!

How's everyone? Good luck tomorrow emzy - let's hope neither of us end up having them Grin

Naughty babies indeed, biggem! Imustbepatient great name, and completely get the DH traveling/time running out thing. DH was supposed to go to Ireland for a very well paid clinic this weekend - guess that's out the window! Come on baby!

can I join in?
4 days over due date. Got a little bit of a stomach upset and was quite sicky this morning but this afternoon nothing except total fatigue. I did feel quite shaky earlier but since eating a pizza for lunch and a giant sleep I just feel heavily pregnant and fed up again.
I've cleaned the house but not in a mad frantic way.
when when when????????

Baby does feel lower, but I don't know whether that's just wishful thinking.

Welcome purple! When is indeed the question! How does it feel like it is just never going to happen? We keep leaning down to the bump and saying "Alright now little one, time to pack your stuff up and move on out!"

Hello purple
Eviction notices served all round then! Baby is v low, has been 2/5 engaged for about 6 weeks now - pleasant!
Feel fit to pop and what makes it more annoying is people's predictions!

I found a 4 leaf clover this morning and was hoping it was a sign...

Anne I got mine in a little health shop in West Hampstead but I checked on the Holland and Barrett site and they have the same brand as the one I got:

www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=3724&searchterm=castor%20oil&rdcnt=1

Maybe worth calling up your local branch to see if they have any in?

Hahaha yes, have your cake first and then swig the oil.

I didn't actually think they'd stock it but hurrah!

A tip - everyone online says to mix it with something. I put 4 teaspoons in a glass of mango juice and stirred - and of course, it just stayed separated. We have one of those little cup Bullet blenders so I stuck it in there for a quick blitz and it went creamy and much easier to get down. I have a very strong gag reflex - ridiculous gagging at even taking large vitamins capsules Hmm Maybe you don't have the same issue but blending definitely helped!

Hey ladies - you probably all have tried this but oil of evening primrose is worth a try... You can take it orally or, if you're really desperate and I was "topically" as well.

As mother of one who was 9 days over I feel your frustrations though!

... Also had a go on a trampoline 6 hours before first contraction but wouldn't think that's recommended by midwives!

Good luck all - am slightly very jealous of the excitement and joy you've all got in the very near future!

Hey wommer that's such a nice post...thank you...helps us keep in mind what all this torture waiting is for.

I have tried the EVP...topically - I just burst them :(

In other news, I have painted my nails a nice coral pink in anticipation of little Oren. Come one, mummy has pretty nails now, it's time!! Hahaha, losing the plot!

Hi!
I am 10 days overdue with my first baby and had my second sweep today, the first she couldn't even reach far enough up me to do anything and today she could only just get a finger in.

I am so fed up and achy, spending my time manically bouncing on a gym ball. Booked for yet another sweep on wednesday and if all else fails an induction on Friday.

I just want this baby OUT!!!

Stumbleine · 22/10/2012 19:41

Hi can I join you? Am 40+1 with dc 3. Been having the usual Braxton hicks plus lots of lower bump and back pain when the baby is wriggling/burrowing in the evening but no other signs.

I attempted to give myself a sweep this morning which was umm...interesting! Anyway, my cervix is too posterior to reach so will have to wait until my clinic appointment on Wednesday.

Have had 5 enquiry texts today. Am actually considering doing the school run in disguise tomorrow Grin .

Stumbleine I feel the same as you - MIL calls us every day to see if she is a gran yet. I know she is looking forward to it, but we have repeatedly told her we will call when anything is happening. Also this is the most interest she has shown the entire time I have been pregnant, usually she calls and immediately asks to speak to my husband, and then asks him how I am!

I may be being a bit unreasonable in my annoyance with this, but my family have bought us loads of bits and bobs and are really excited, but his family have done NOTHING!!

Aaand breathe, rant over - sorry!

imustbepatient · 22/10/2012 20:37

Ooh love Strictly Ballroom too! Will have to dig out films like that (ie that DH isn't overly fond of!) to watch during early labour!

Thanks for the evening primrose tip. I think a visit to holland and Barrett is on the cards for tomorrow.

Good luck everyone, hopefully at least one of us will get underway tonight!

Ok mission tomorrow is oil and cake :-)

I am taking EPO orally. I tried shoving a couple in but feck knows how you make that work. Any tips? Or is that way way TMI??

I stopped responding to texts today. Everyone thinks I am in labour but I don't care. Nice to have a break.......

Painting toe nails, sweeping oneself?! Ladies how the hell are you reaching these extremities?! Wink
I tried to trim the lady garden with scissors this morning - had to stop as I was terrified of snipping flesh!!
My fave current trick is getting 17 month old dd to try to bounce the baby, she thinks its hilarious no movement from the lodger tho!

Biggem I have very long arms Grin.

I have however given up on the ladygarden trimming efforts after some fairly disastrous butchery the other week!
