Finally! My search for non-crap maternity leggings is over.

I just thought I'd share with you mumsnetters that, after 1 and 3/4 pregnancies, I (a 5' 5" size 10 lady who is 33 weeks preggers) have FINALLY found maternity leggings that:

  • don't bag at the knee
  • aren't too short
  • aren't too long
  • aren't too see-through
  • are comfy
  • don't slide down my stomach/legs so I have to hoick them up in the middle of the supermarket/street/ball pool
  • don't require the tucking-in of a vest top in order to halt the above
  • will still look good post-pregnancy (bump band bit is fold-downable)
  • look slightly stylish
  • work with trainers, boots or ballet pumps (prob would be fine with heels too but I value my and my unborn's life so aren't about to test this)

Believe me, I've done the rounds. I've tried (among others):
Boden: (nice thick fabric but they slide down without a tucked-in vest)
Asos: (look cheap, too short, but at least they stay up)
Dorothy Perkins: (not too bad but a bit baggy and a bit short)
H&M: (well cheap but sag at the knee instantly)
Pretty Pregnant: (too tight round bump)
River Island: (slippery and cheap looking)
Citizens of Humanity: (OK, these are black skinny jeans with a bump band but similar to leggings - v v expensive - £200, gulp! - and looked fab and were pretty comfy through most of my second trimester, but now the top of the bump band cuts into my stomach and I can't wear them - pretty gutted considering how much I spent.)

Anyway...who wants to know where I found my leggings holy grail?

Just think, you're going to appreciate it EVEN MORE after the delayed gratification.

At least, that's what I tell DH re sex.

Oh, it's going to seem like such an anticlimax now.

Something I DON'T say to DH re sex.

But they are really really good. Wearing them now, in fact. Mmmmm.

I can't bear suspense and I need to go construct the new nursing chair that's just been delivered all by myself (DH is abroad all week, possibly due to his wife's attitude to sex).

So.

They're Isabella Oliver ruched leggings. At £39 they aren't cheap, but I found a discount code (TREAT15) that gives 15% off. Worth every penny, IMHO.

Anyone else agree with me? And no, I promise I don't work for Isabella Oliver. Or even have a friend who does. Just lovin the leggins.
