Although i find it very very weird, i have none my stomach nor around it.

I have the on my back where the 'love handles' end and the top of my legsHmm.

I also have got loads of my bum?!?!?!

I use the plamers lotion but its doing no good only on the stomach side.

Whats the best lotion?

I have got some santury mum to be oil but i doubt its much use.

I'm afraid no lotion will do any good. Nothing you can buy over the counter can penetrate the skin - stretch marks come from deep in the dermis. Predisposition to them is just down to the sort of skin you have.

I'm curious, xmas, are you tall or do you have a long torso? I was speaking to some fellow mums recently, and we discovered that the taller among us seem to have fewer stretch marks on our tummies (perhaps because the fetus has more room in the torso so less need to stretch out the tummy?). Could be a coincidence, but still...

As far as treatments are concerned, perhaps some laser therapies will work? I don't think any lotion on the market will do anything.

I'm tall and only have stretch marks on my boobs. This is also the only place I didn't oil during my first pregnancy, which is when I got them. I didn't get a very big bump with my first three pregnancies, but had a hugh bump fourth time round. Still no stretch marks though.

I think cream or oil can help, but agree with Zuleika that it seems to be mainly down to luck.

They do fade a lot over the years and rubbing cream or oil on them afterwards does improve the appearance of the skin in general and help the overall look.

My mother-in-law says I earned my stretch marks and women in other countries are proud of them. I think thats a nice way of looking at it.

I have been using Bio oil all the way through my pregnancy and i haven't got any yet (fingers crossed ) . I'm now 37 + 5 . I do however think that a lot of it is down t skin type and luck and not sure how much good the bio oil is doing ..!?

I've been using the palmers too but only on the tops of thighs and arms .

Don't want to worry you xmas, but last time I had none on or around my stomach, only on my bum and thighs, but once I'd given birth and my stomach went down they suddenly appeared!
However, 10 months on they've already faded to silvery lines, and I'm sure they'll fade further, or would if I wasn't pregnant again!

I'm tall too and don't have any stretch marks on my tummy at 38+6 - I didn't get any with ds either. I have little white ones on my bum although I don't know if they were connected with my pregnancy with ds or if I had them before and didn't notice! I've used Bio Oil twice a day throughout both of my pregnancies but equally my mum didn't get stretch marks so I don't know how much is simply genetics rather than product. I know Bio Oil can help the appearance of scars and stretch marks if you do get any though.

Im 5ft 6/7, i have those horrid deep purple ones on my legs, you cant see them though.

If i was naked you would, i have a few on my inner leg? I dont mind then, i do look at them and think 'wow' i have never had stretch marks beforeHmm

Now i have got them, what the best way to make them appear less purple and so harsh? Bio oil?

I'm small and have never had stretch marks anywhere but in the underside of my right boob. Strangely, my belly got massive every pregnancy but my boobs didn't grow that much. (That's no help I know but just serves to show that stretch marks are weird).
My DB has them on his biceps from too much working out haha

I'm still waiting for the stretch marks to appear. I was lucky in my first pregnancy and didn't get any. But now pregnant with twins 29weeks and the size I was full term with my daughter... Not sure how much longer I can dodge the bullet. I've only been using baby lotion, does the trick for me. :)
