What's going on? Yesterday I tested with a cheap test got a very very faint line, bought an Asda test get another very very faint line. This morning I have done another Asda one and got what looks like nothing?? Am I aren't I, should I go to my gp?

Period due today or tomorrow

A false positive is far less likely than a false negative.

Could the first one have been an evaporation line and not a positive result? Or did you leave it too long before looking?

Go and get another test - a good one. And try again in a few days.

I got a friend to look at both of yesterday's. she agreed they were there, there pink so unlikely to be evaporation line. Each a different test, today it's not looking good Sad

I know the answer to this but could a cold/sore throat affect it? I've developed one in the last day.

I am not a doctor but I seriously doubt it. i don't think a cold or sore throat affects the level of hCG in your urine.

I've just googled "does a cold affect HCG levels" and I can't find anything.

I know it doesn't Its just so hard when I simply don't know, what it so much. Have loads of symptoms, feel like rubbish and don't know if I'm coming or going.

give it a couple of day until you've actually missed your period and test again. A good one.

But if it's driving you nuts and you can't wait, go to the doctor. Tell them you had a + and then a - and you're fretting.

This happened to me, and resultant dc is now sleeping peacefully beside me, so don't despair. The tests can vary greatly in sensitivity. Did you use first morning urine for the negative one? This was my mistake. I'd get a really good one (clearblue?) and try first thing tomorrow. Good luck!

This is what's so confusing! First one with morning wee, faint confusing line, Yesterday's 2nd and best or most obvious test was done around 10am, I didn't think it would show anything.

Today's was with morning wee.

We still have the tests, I'm not imagining yesterday they was a line, today's is now showing a faint pink line but its an hr later.

It makes no sense.

Just waitca few days until you're late & test again. The HCG levels are rising so fast that at the moment the tests will struggle to pick them up. Most are 99% accurate from the day AFTER your missed period. you're not quite there yet. good luck.

Cupcake stop eating your money. Test are expensive. Wait a few more days until period doesn't arrive. HCG levels in early pregnancy double every 2 days, so you will get a true reading if you wait. Smile

I believe asda cheapies are 25iu sensitive. The advice above is right, you're best waiting a few days. I know I wouldn't be able to. Personally I'd test with fmu tomorrow with a FRER, which are just about the most sensitive test there is. Expensive but worth it. The problem with that is if it's a chemical pregnancy it'll keep your hopes up. The waiting is horrible.
It's not over til your period shows. Very best of luck.

I'm going to now relax and try to wait. I feel too ill to invest my valuable energy into sticks that don't work!

I'm so sure I am, I can't say why I am just so certain!

Just WAIT! Wait a couple of days - no period - then you probably are pg and you can test with a decent test to be sure. Stop squinting at faint lines. That way madness lies.

I am practicing the art of waiting, I need the practice I'm crap at it. I'm going from Sad to Grin to Envyto Angry toHmmHmmConfused.

I would have a brew if I hadn't gone off tea and coffee....symptom no 15
