Hello. I'm 34 weeks, nearly 35. Like you I have horrendous heartburn. Not sure it's correct to swig habits on from the bottle but what the hell. Baby was breech on tues but is a wriggler. Is anyone else finding some of baby's movements painful? Mostly low down but it it's enough to make me wince. Also have a two year old and moving house in 7 days Grin I feel ok in myself tho. Supposed to be taking iron but havnt been as I'm constipated enough and they havnt mentioned anaemia on my last blood test so assuming it was borderline anyway.

Not long now tho so keep smoking Grin

Hello. I'm 34+4 and am experiencing what both of you describe. On the whole I'm doing ok but sleep is a real problem for me and I'm waking on the hour every hour in some discomfort. I don't have heartburn but am very breathless.

Baby is transverse so I spend most of my evenings sprawled across my birthing ball or on all fours, which isn't comfortable. I'm also finding baby movements quite painful, like I'm bruised on the inside, and he's punching my cervix - ouch!

I also have polyhydramnios (excess amniotic fluid) so I'm massive. Fortunately I'm on maternity leave now so I can take it a little easier but DC1 is keeping me on my toes.

You both have my sympathies - I'm with you all the way. Apart from that I'm great :-)

I am 34+3 and glad I am not the only one! Starting to find work really hard as sitting at my desk is so uncomfortable - it feels like the baby is really pushing against my ribs and movements take my breath away. Also, feel less able to deal with the general stress of it all (job, I mean) and I am basically feeling quite sorry for myself today. Also, near constant Braxton Hicks - is that even normal????

FranTan · 17/10/2012 20:33

BigW - Sorry you are suffering too. I get Braxton Hicks through just walking across the room!

Hello all, I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and can totally sympathise with you! I've been struggling to sleep for weeks due to sore hips/heartburn/random dreams/needing a wee/snoring DP ( delete as appropriate!) but this week has been extra special...on Monday I had my flu jab in one arm and whooping cough jab in the other..leaving me unable to lie on either side as my arms were so sore!
I don't remember the kicks hurting so much with DC1 either, although he is 5 now so maybe a case of selective memory? Brew's all round methinks.

I'm only 31 weeks, but am already do over being pregnant!
My 1st preg was soooooooo different,

Only had slight morning sickness.Started at 6 weeks, finished at 12 weeks, for the rest of my preg I was full of energy, life, could eat everything i wanted to eat even up to the day I went into labour I was busy, active and loving being preg.

This time, I'm still being sick, can only eat a limited variety of foods, mostly what I call beige foods, cheese, bread, chicken, etc..
No sauces, no veggies, can eat fruit but only really apples pears and grapes.
I've had 3 UTIs, pregnancy Rhinitis, back ache & round ligament pain, constantly tired, not sleeping due to insomnia, and now heart burn has kicked in!
God knows what I'm going to be like at the end of my preg!

I just keep trying to tell myself it could be worse, I don't have high BP, or preeclampsia
Roll on December, i cant wait till I can hold my baby and start feeling like normal again :-)

You all have my sympathies. This pregnancy is very different to ds and I get you with the weird dreams too. Only 3 shifts left to work over the weekend then house move then I can relax. Goodness knows what she is doing in there at the moment but she has strong legs/arms

34 plus 5, feeling OK. This is my 2nd pregnancy and I am not as big as I was on my first, when I had polydydramis. I've been doing a pregnancy fitness class twice a week this time which seems to have made all he difference for me. Also last time had office job and sitting all day this pregnant felt really uncomfortable. I am starting to feel heavy, turning in bed sucks and I have to pee all the time. Also starting to get a bit moody and anxious, although booked my c-section yesterday and that was exciting! 19th of November, seems so soon!

Thank goodness for all your replies!!!! I feel normal then!!!
I had my flu and whooping cough jabs last week and think thats what set my yukey feeling off... Having to sleep on my left then realising...where do I put my left arm!?

I wish I was aloud to just take a sleeping pill, knock me out for just one night then I'd be fine but night after night getting just 3 hours sleep.... :(
It will all be worth it in the end so maybe I shouldn't moan so much!

Moan! Rage, sulk, do whatever gets you through. And don't feel bad about it! It will all be a blur soon and when you look back it's a funny mixture of nostalgia (because growing a baby is amazing in way that it's hard to appreciate while you're living through it) and relief (because being pregnant is hard and getting your body back feels wonderful).
You can enjoy a pregnancy and moan your way through it at the same time!

Hello, I'm the same - I'm 32 weeks today and cannot wait until d day. Sleep just isn't happening. I get about an hour at a time. I've got horrific SPD which makes everything painful. Rolling over in bed is just agony. I have learnt tho that I can pull myself over by holding onto the headboard of the bed.
The doc offered to sign me off the other day. I don't know why I said no 'I want to work'. I'm considering going back and begging to be signed off but too scared of the boss. I hope your last few weeks speed by! X

Re the sleeping, thing is, it's 08:20 and I know that if I go back to bed I would sleep soundly for a couple of hours. Night is a different story and it feels like I'm just waiting for 07:00 so I can get up and be knackered. Insomnia is horrible and it's new to me so regular sufferers really have my sympathy.

New moan - my lower back is now killing me and I've no idea what I've done; think it's just the weight of the baby.

35+3
Have been feeling pretty good but the last few days I really feel like the bump is growing up around my ribs and its giving me heartburn - except I only really feel it in the back of my throat, which is nasty.
Got admitted to hospital a week ago with placenta praevia, they seem quite cautious about it here as they say I'm in for the duration - very dull. But at least if this plan (B) continues planned C-section at week 38 means I won't have so long to wait. Don't get me wrong, I wanted a home birth and was quite upset the day I came in here, but am coming to terms with it and at least hopefully know what is going to happen - at least a planned C-section will be better than an emergency one.

Today is a good day, I slept for 5 straight hours last night! almost unheard of these days!

This just happened to me. One of the younger guys at work just stared at my tummy in utter disgust because the whole bump was shifting backwards and forwards. I thought he was going to be sick. All he said was: "gross", then he got up and left. Grin

Ha! One of the weirdest things I found when I was first pregnant at 27 was men's reactions. (VERY) occasionally in the earlier stages with DS I'd still get eyed up on the tube if I was sitting down or the bump was otherwise hidden. I still had long blonde hair and adhered to basic grooming back then. Then they'd notice I was pregnant and look either revolted or ashamed depending on if it was a younger or older bloke. This pregnancy no-ones bothered, as I am fat and covered in either toddler or toddler's mess at all times.

BigW, that is a Kodak moment if ever there was one!

Osterleymsma,
I had a funny experience when I was 30 wks preg with DS1,
I was out with my friend at a really nice bar (thank goodness for the no smoking ban)
Sitting at our table, When my friend said to me, "that guys checking you out"
I was like nah don't be daft "
Next thing he came over asked me what my name was in a "Joey, from Friends type of way"
I smiled, stood up looked at my bump and said "Soon it will be Mummy"
Poor guy went beat root red, all his mates burst out laughing and he couldn't get away quick enough!

It made my night though! Lol :-D

Just checking back in to add varicose veins ( shudder, damn working on my feet all day!) and heartburn burny throat to my list. I'm enjoying this thread..not because I'm pleased we're suffering but because its so lovely to grumble and feel totally understood!

Drank 2 pints of milk at work today to counter the heartburn triggered by the sweets I was snaffling..it was one of those 'I'm so going to pay for this later but it's worth it' moments Grin

I'm also loving this thread,
Don't get me wrong i LOVE that I'm preg, I am so excited to meet my little one.
But........ I'm so sick of feeling this rubbish!
Thing is i feel so ungrateful and petty, speaking to a few of my friends who are struggling to conceive some even going through IVF.
