how long did it take for you to go into labour from babys head engaging??

well as the title says, im 37 weeks today with my 4th and he is 4/5ths engaged, this is new for me as my others didnt engage until labour. im kinda hoping its going to happen soon. so i was just wondering how long it has took others from baby engaging to labour. Smile

Eh...it was 3 weeks and 5 days for me. Probably not what you wanted to hear!

#2 didn't engage until just before birth

yes iv heard it can take ages, still cant stop hoping he is going to be here soon, i think i mite of been better off not knowing he was engaged iv got myself all excited thinking he will be here soon Grin

mrsjohndeere im not sure. thats what i thought and what im hoping aswell. with my first i had to be induced then have a c section coz he just didnt want to come out so he didnt engage at all.

4/5 isn't engaged though! Here's what my notes say: "5/5 = free, 4/5 = sitting on the pelvic brim, 3/5 = lower but most is still above the brim, 2/5 = engaged as most is below the brim, 1/5 = deeply engaged.

Baby engaged 4/5 at 28 weeks. Now 39+6 and still waiting. Sorry....

I thought it meant how many fifths she can still feel of babys head? So ur babies head is 1/5th below where they measure so 4/5ths she can still feel?
Im unsure though! Im 3/5th engaged, baby no2 and 38+5 so hoping its soon for me too!
Once babys engaged get on a gym ball and help gravity take its course :) goodluck i hope its soon!

londonmrss yeah iv read that aswell but iv never had this at all not even a little bit. i kind of know about the engaging but wanted to hear other peoples experiences. im looking forward to meeting my little man an am hoping its going to be sooner rather than later.

mom2ryhsnruby yeah thats how it works so like londonmrss said 4/5 sitting on pelvis floor 3/5 even lower. im still soo excited really hope it isnt long for me. with my others baby didnt engage at all untill labour kinda hope its the same this time round
