Chocolate, bubble bath etc boring. What would you like from a friend to say congrats on no 2.

And what would you like for baby if you have everythign you need already from no 1?

I like posh bubble bath as I feel obluged to use it so i'm forced to relax! A clothes shopping voucher which can be used on-line is a real treat.

For baby a small lovely cuddly toy or blanket is always nice to have Smile

A large store of chocolate and a book/stickers/other present for the older child, nothing for the baby.

i had my baby shower on Sunday, total surprise arranged by my best friends and my Husband,
we already have DS who is 5, and we kept all the nursery furniture, pram, clothes etc... so i really didnt "need" anything.

some of my friends had grouped together to get me a huge basket,
its filled with really practical things, nappies, lotions for both baby and me, a dummies, baby wipes, infacol, and a few other really practical things that i will need once baby arrives plus a couple of small toys,,
the basket is also lovely really big old fasioned wicker basket, which i will fill with soft toys and place in babies room (once i have unpacked and used the contents)

another friend is into photography, and has arranged a Bump and Newborn photo shoot. im really looking forward to this as this wil be my last preg, so it will be nice to have a few photos of bump, and also my DH & DS can also be part of the photoshoot. She will come again when baby is born to take some nice family photos of the 4 of us!

i also got a home made notice board for in babys room, a photo album, a baby records book, photo frames,

My sister gave me a gift bag full of chocolates, biscuits and nice bubble bath etc. It was the best gift ever!! I was bf'ing dd2 and it was so nice to have a treat bag to dip into when I was feeding!

I was also given a new change bag (nice to have something new!!)

Food, something that can be put in the microwave but is a proper meal. I am hoping someone does this for me second time around.

For myself... a massage!! Pregnancy massage or head/neck/shoulder one. Wish I had friends who'd get me something like that.. hehe. Although could always try and bribe DH.

For second baby: nice outfits for when they're a bit older (6m+). People tend to get you all the cute baby clothes they grow out of within 3 seconds and/or get puked/pooed on anyway. By the time they can actually wear proper clothes people are no longer giving you gifts, and it's also nice if you're using DC1s clothes for DC2, for DC2 to have some stuff that wasn't a hand-me-down.

If it was a present for me I wouldn't want chocolate as I'm getting too fat without it so would like a nice scarf or necklace, something that I can wear whatever size I end up.

If it was for the baby then practical things like wipes, lotion, baby bubblebath etc.

Really nice body butter or something like Elemis Camellia oil for the stretch marks!

Prosecco, hotel chocolat chocolates, if they're feeling really flush, a voucher to get baby's picture taken. My sister has got me a bump shoot in a couple of weeks, which is lovely.

For baby - clothes if a different gender. Maybe even if the same gender!

Nice outfits so that they don't just get the handed down stuff. A nice cuddly toy ditto.

Also nice if DC1 gets something so they feel special as well.

Snowsuits and warm baby grows are on my list for the baby (due in 3 weeks) - our first was an April baby, so although we can use all her babygros etc, we don't have any newborn winter stuff.

As for me - a voucher for a massage or champagne #highmaintenance Grin

Time - ie: a helping hand for whatever they want, it might be to take older child off for an afternoon/babysitting/cleaning/cooking ........... that sort of thing (plus nice bubble bath Grin).

I never wanted more than one child Grin - but the very best present, amongst the sea of baby clothes/cuddly toys/books/picture frames etc etc was a cleaner booked for eight weeks !

A promise of babysitting once you are ready for an hour or two to yourself or with your partner. Useful once the walls start closing in on you.

I would appreciate big brother gifts for no1 more than anything for me

no to bubblebath, I'll prob be bathing in lavender to heal for a while anyway

For myself: John Lewis vouchers that I can put towards new clothes! Posh jar of pate or blue cheese - something that is forbidden during pregnancy. Probably wouldn't get the opportunity to go out to use a spa or beauty voucher as I'll be too busy feeding baby... A pedicure pre-birth would be nice though! It's hard to reach my feet now.

For baby: a pretty doll. I have all the clothes I need which have been given to me by SIL, and I have ds's pram and baby essentials. But baby girl doesn't have her own little toys or dolls as yet, I'm hoping people might buy me a few.

Massage for me.

For baby - a door plaque with his/her name/initial on (if you know it).
