What's going on?!? Fed Up! (trivial impatient thread)

Hello everyone.

I'm 39+5 and since I've been getting loads of encouraging signs that labour is imminent (lots of discharge, bowels opening, lots of braxton hicks that occasionally go regular.) I saw my M/W yesterday who booked me in for a sweep next week in case I hadn't started properly.

Today I just feel like I've been punched in the ribs (like I'm winded and bruised). Every now and again I feel like it stings so bad in my pelvic area (generally all the way around) and the braxton hicks have gone. I'm absolutely exhausted from about four days of constant contracting.

Seriously! What's going on! Can't it just come out!

I'm 39+4 and am Envy at all your symptoms, I haven't had any. Booked in for a sweep next Tuesday so hopefully that will get things moving!

Good luck gangly with your sweep. I just wish that it would get started properly that's all. It's a bit of a tease. The physio wasn't kidding when she said contractions are tiring- even when they aren't painful.

Yes it's all very frustrating. I'm so uncomfortable now and struggling to get out and about; starting to go a bit stir crazy!

Is this your first baby?

Yeah, so it's difficult to know what to expect. Even with all of the m/w support/books/mn

First for me too.

Hopefully wont be too much longer for either of us Smile

Any coping techniques would be appreciated Grin

I'm currently going along the 'pig out while I can' and have as many baths as possible route.

Hi, can I join you?

I m due tommorrow but no signs yet, baby is nt even engaged yet. It's my second baby and the first was 4 days early so I sort of assumed the same thing would happen this time. I ve also got spd and the sharp crotch/ groin pains lots of braxton hicks and bump pain. I m so fed up and frustrated so I completely sympathise with you!! Here's hoping we don't have too long to wait!!

milli2512 · 11/10/2012 19:52

Hello can I jump in too. I'm 39+4 no real signs of anything happening imminently. Starting to get a bit bored now, especially when it pees down with rain all day. Will be offered sweep next thurs. I know this sounds silly but I really don't like the idea of a sweep, TMI but things seem to have got rather tight down there and worried I'll find it painful. This pregnancy lark is a long old process isn't it!

I went for a hot curry when I was 39+2 with ds and tried a few star jumps (not at the same time!) and ds was born 2 days later. Probably coincidence and he would have come then anyway but I'll be trying the curry (maybe not the star jumps...) again this time plus tons of fresh pineapple - I'm craving pineapple so that is easy enough to manage! I didn't have a show or many signs with ds - the previous night I had regular BH throughout the night but they had gone by morning, then the next night I got up to go to the loo at 1am, had loose motion (sorry TMI), waters broke everywhere as I got back into bed, and started with the full-on contractions 3 mins apart. So lemons you may not be far away! Hope it starts happening for you soon. I'm only 37+5 so possibly have a way to go yet, boo. x

Some Braxton Hicks, some liquidy clear discharge though deffo not a show or waters, regular loose toilet going - hoping baby stays until Saturday as landlady is having a new bath fitted tomorrow. Due on Tuesday.

(Mummy2benj thank you for being so sweet to me on my other thread :) )

Trying to find energy to have sex to see if that helps but really don't know if I can face it. Lol. I feel like a walking whale at the moment. Maybe I ll try the hot curry instead.

DH is too scared to have sex, which is extremely unlike him.

I made a hot chilli this evening but tried the Evening Primrose Oil last night - capsule as a pessary and it was most odd. Felt very...odd indeed.

WhenLifeGivesYouLemons · 11/10/2012 22:05

How odd? I was quite tempted by evening primrose but was afraid it would sting. I've got in some suppositories cry in case I get proper desperate

My DH not keen on doing the deed either. I found it pretty uncomfortable last time we did. Hence why I'm a bit anxious about a sweep, which is bloody stupid considering I'm going to have to squeeze a baby out of there Grin.

milli I m terrified of having sweep too, I don't know why but just thought of a stranger rummaging around up there, well it does nt sound nice does it ? On the other hand I m officially overdue now and getting desperate. I ve got stomach pains this morning but unfortunately I think it's just trapped wind!! Sad.

Hello everyone!

(Sorry for all the moaning)

turnwest and milli I am also very scared about my up coming sweep. Glad I'm not the only one, thought I was being a bit pathetic Blush

Gangly we're due date buddies! I think in regards to the sweep It's because for many pregnant women It's the first time in the pregnancy you'll be examined internally, so dread it a bit. Hey ho we won't care who's poking about soon enough. Still no signs here. Starting to get v.bored now and no real motivation to do much. Going to meet a friend in her lunch hour today then might take myself off for a bit of a waddle. Would be so easy to sit round and mope but trying hard not to. Ladies with SPD etc really have my sympathy. I don't have anything to really complain about.

I should read up on sweeps - I have a MW on my due date this Tuesday. If you weren't keen on inductions, wanted to go as long as possible without synthetic type intervention and had a home birth planned...would you still go for a sweep? Is it just an encouraging "come along" body type thing?

WhenLifeGivesYouLemons · 12/10/2012 12:08

Are had a horrible night last night. Couldn't get to sleep and then got up at two and vommed a load of risottoy bile (yuck)! Settled after that but this is so uncomfortable.

Anyone else getting ratty with the family. I've not been hormal or irrational throughout the entire pg but now I'm all grumpy Sad

lemons sorry you ve had a bad night, I was sick just before I went into labour with my first DC though so maybe it's a good sign?

No signs of anything here, still not engaged. And yes, I m also getting very bad tempered especially with my Mil who keeps ringing and asking if I have had any signs yet!! So annoying.

Report
cheesymonster · 12/10/2012 16:43

I'm 41 weeks today and not a single twinge yet. MW offered a sweep when I was 40+4 but I refused (wimp). I'm seeing her again Monday if nothing's happened.

Getting anxious and teary, and fed up of people texting asking if there's any news!

Report
GanglyGiraffe · 12/10/2012 16:51

Lemons I've heard other people talk about being sick not long before labour starts, so fingers crossed its a good sign for you!

turnwest I'm starting to get a bit miserable now (poor DP!), just so fed-up of being tired and uncomfortable! I'm sure all will be forgiven after we have our little bundles! I thought my MIL would be ringing every 5 minutes, but she hasn't rang me at all. She just rings DP, so instead I'm Angry that no one is bothered. Basically anything anyone does or doesn't do, says or doesn't say is getting right on my wick! Confused

Orenishii don't see why you can't have a sweep, but still a natural birth? I'm thinking of waiting a bit longer than Tuesday for my sweep, but we'll see how I feel next week!

milli glad to be due date buddies! Although everyone due around the same time as mean seems to be having their babies early.

I'm just back from meeting my Mum on her lunch break and now feel exhausted. May have a little nap before DP gets home.
