Just been doing some gardening, seem to have lots of energy lately, but a bit hard to bend now.

What are you ladies, who are around 38 weeks up to and how are you feeling?

Lucky you! I'm bored out of my mind but too tired and uncomfortable to do anything.

Am mostly wishing myself to go into labour.

Am only 36 weeks, but in pain, tired from no sleep at night and still working. Have zero energy and also can't bend down!

Am also wishing that I could go into labour now!!!

I'm at work! Well, working from home and it's incredibly boring. Also have lots of energy and looking forward to start mat leave as of friday, 5.30 pm :)

I spent the last two weeks ticking everything off my to do list and am now putting my feet up as much as possible! SPD and generally aches and pains mean I'm not getting much sleep at night now, so feel exhausted. Just want baby to arrive. Hope the rest of you are bearing up well Grin

Just trying desparately to clean my flat to a decent standard and meet with friends now I'm finally on mat leave.

I feel tired in the mornings due to the constant waking at night for toilet/heartburn/leg cramps/anxiety but I think sometimes I feel better if I just force myself to do something productive!

Weird symptoms of this week are: baby doing a strange rocking/burrowing type maneuver (trying to engage?) and painful pubic area...anyone else? Confused

I think the hardest thing is not knowing the exact date that you're going to give birth as you can't really plan how much time you have left etc to fit everything in.

Yes MidLine also getting those feelings. Getting a shooting pain 'downstairs' where she wiggles.hopefully planning the great escape soon!

midline definitely with you on the sore pubic area. Feels like I've been kneed in the crotch Sad. Also agree that it is hard not knowing how long I have till baby arrives, given it could be any day over the next 3.5 weeks, if I go to 42 weeks. I'm trying not to get my hopes up that baby will be early (this is my second) but know I will be frustrated and hugely impatient if I go over. Sigh.

37 + 5 and bored Sad It's so annoying not knowing when it will happen.

I have energy though, house is clean, on top of laundry.

My SPD is very mild, comes and goes

Good grief, occasionally I've had what can only be described as lightening running through my cervix. It literally takes my breath away!

I've also developed weird mid back pain. I have no idea what it is or how I can get relief!

Hi ladies! 37+4 and knackered although also wanting to "nest" which is a difficult combination! Just about managing to keep house clean (ish) and tidy (tricky with a 3 and a half year old) and have filled the freezer with home-cooked meals - I currently have a vat of harissa beef and chickpea casserole simmering on the hob which will be the last meal I can cram into my freezer!

Uncomfortable most of the time although I have a much smaller bump than I did with ds (little girl this time and she has made me crave tomatoes and pineapple unlike the curry and cake I craved with ds!). Doesn't help not being able to rest at all as have lively ds to entertain and try to stop jumping all over me.

Had early trip to labour ward 2 nights ago at 4am as hadn't been feeling baby girl move - thankfully a false alarm and she has been her usual wriggly (somersaulty) self again since, but now even more knackered! x

38 weeks on Friday and struggling to do anything. I'm not sleeping at night and shattered during the day. I want to get stuff done but I just can't.
Have had lunch with a friend today, which was lovely. Enjoyed playing with her 9 month old. But now I need to do tea and some tidying when all I want to do is sleep.

Am getting impatient and would like to know when the baby is going to decide to put in an appearance!!!

sastra - baby's head was engaged when I saw the midwife last week. It basically feels like you have a cricket ball wedged in your pelvis! An uncomfortable pressure, but then you can have that before baby's head engages fully. Some people find that their bumps 'drops' a little, as baby moving down into the pelvis can give you a bit more room under the ribs. Not sure if I've noticed that really - probably not. Don't really recall that with ds either. x

38+1 here. No sign of nesting, just regular keeping on top of mud, dog hair and toddler chaos Grin no time to do anything i want to like sewing projects or catching up with people thanks to aforementioned toddler and his far more important social life!
Am worrying because baby is back to back a lot occasionally shifting round to its back being on the left, but never at the front like it should be. Have placenta at front so I guess that doesn't help...

I'm 38 weeks on Fri too. Mostly drinking lots of tea, going for walks to try and keep active.
Hey Sastra! How are you? Do you know if it's a csec or not yet? I remember you were quite worried a few months back. Mine has started to engage and I feel a bit heavier low down, but don't feel any lighter up top- still being kicked in the ribs etc.
Don't think mine is planning to move any time soon though. I've not had the runs, and I've never felt any braxton hicks.
I really want to just put my feet up, but I'm very aware of trying to keep my baby in a good position (she was back to back for ages and is now finally facing the right way!) so I daren't relax too much.
Man, I fancy a gin and tonic.
mummy, your casserole sounds yummy.

Hello! No, placenta has moved out of the way so hopefully no CS! Is your baby still back to back? Mine is. Sigh.

She wasn't engaged a couple of weeks ago but we'll have to see if progress has been made when I see the MW on Friday. I wonder whether the sharp pains are her trying to get down? It feels like he's trying to come out superman style!

Report
Sastra · 10/10/2012 18:14

Oh I've just seen that she's spun round. Hurray! My placenta is anterior, so I'm not holding out much hope for her spinning.

waving a small white flag here!

39 weeks on friday. really trying to keep nice and busy doing fun things but bloody sick of all the false labour pains. had the runs all morning then felt better so decided to go for a shop today. then things started to liven up. pains all in my tummy and back. by the time i got to Pret for a cup of soup i thought i my waters my break there and then. of course, nothing happened and by 4pm everything totally tailed off.

its like every bloody time i leave the house to do something fun i get ridiculous contraction pains but when i get home bugger all happens and i just feel woosy.

oh well. the longer he is in my tummy, the longer i get out of nappy changes and feeding and can still watch American Dad in bed with a cuppa.... Grin

38 weeks tomorrow, DH is away all week with work so I've promised to try not to have a baby this week. Chances of it are unlikely as DD was 2 weeks late anyway!

I have got food in the fridge to make into meals to go into the freezer but have failed to cook them so far. Also got a stack of paperwork in the dining room that needs filing away so there's room for the birthing pool.

I really need to crack on don't I?!

39 weeks and 2 days here! We've just moved house so busy making curtains (actually frantically making them so they're done before the baby arrives). And some decorating and on Monday I re- sealed the shower. Quite glad that I've had things to do really otherwise would have been bored stiff waiting.
By far my worst symptom is heartburn/reflux - which seems to be getting worse.

Hi all, I'm 38+4 today with dc 3. I've been off for the last 4 weeks so am getting pretty bored with it now! The house has been going through cycles of being immaculate (well, by usual standards!) but it soon gets messed up again.

Have also managed to eat all the freezer meals I had prepared oops! Baby engaged last week and have felt a lot more uncomfortable since but I can't complain too much as sleeping pretty well really.

Another posterior baby here but I refusing to stress over it
He/she will find it's path through my pelvis somehow!

Anyone suffering with a bit of swelling? I say suffering but I only really notice it when I look at it. One ankle slightly bigger than the other but only on the inner side. No pain or anything but very annoying having to sit with feet up while trying to work, at a desk! Oh the joys.
