Midwife has really confused me - appointment at 22 weeks?

The midwife I saw today told me to book my next appointment for 22 weeks. Now I'm really confused and its only just clicked. My booking in midwife told me my next appointment would be at 28 weeks after the 16 week appointment (today), not counting the 20 week scan. Has she lost the plot? Even if she thought it was my first pregnancy that is a bit soon anyway isn't it? I had a lot of sugar in my urine and she is organising a GTT although I told her I'd drank a large glass of prune juice 45 minutes before the sample. She said she will have to send off a form to book it so it wouldn't be that, and it wouldn't be until December. Do you think she meant 28 weeks? I won't get my MATB1 until then?

Only way to be sure is to ring and check. Is this your first pregnancy?

Would assume its for GTT, just ring her and check, no big deal.

Hi there milky jo

I would ring and check but at my 16 week MW appointment I was told to make a 22 week appointment with my GP and my next MW appointment is at 28 weeks (first baby).

I just think maybe she was being a bit absent minded although I had DS in there with me she may have been seeing first pregnancies all morning. The GTT is going to be arranged for December.

I saw my midwife at 10, 16, 22, and 28 weeks, my next one is now at 32 weeks, I think its normal here to have them every 6 weeks to start with, then every 4 weeks, then 2 weeks etc. Could be the same there?

As already said, try calling to ask.

I was told to book mw for the week after my 20 week scan, I then had a 24 week appointment and then a 28 week appointment. This is my 3rd dc with 2 previous straight forward pregnancies/births. I didn't complain about seeing mw as it just means I get to hear the beautiful sound of the heartbeat again.

I have one at 22 weeks, this Friday. My last pregnancy was high risk so not sure if that's the reason, nice to have the extra attention to be honest!

I saw the midwife at 16 and 28 weeks, and the GP at 22 weeks. I had to book my GP appointment myself (midwife told me to do it) -it was basically the same as with the midwife (urine sample, blood pressure, fundal height, heartbeat, etc.) but done by the GP. I think it's not uncommon for a lot of clinics to do it that way?

This is my 2nd DC & I saw the MW at 22wks, without any GTT issues etc. In my info pack, it said that multigravada see the MW at 22 wks then 28, 32wks, & then every 2wks for the next few. It does vary from PCT/HCT but I wouldn't worry - as another post said, you can't hear baby too often can you? Smile

I've got 21 weeks written on my appt schedule. The mw said it was so they could check in after the scan. This is my 1st though so maybe it's supposed to be different for subsequent pregnancies...

I've got a 21wk appointment booked at the mw's request. I think it's to check my bp mainly as it's at the high end of normal. Another friend in the area was told to book for 26 weeks, and several others 28 weeks. Smile
