Hi - 35w+2 with my 2nd DC and am experiencing really uncomfortable pressure down below. Its not constant and has at times has made me catch my breath. Also mild period pains. It is not like when I went into labour with my 1st (no mistaking that!!!) so I am just wondering with the second can it be like this as things are a bit 'loser' than with 1st. At last MW apt I was 4/5 engaged. Is it possible baby has just engaged further and this is the pressure I am experiencing. Baby is really active too.

I so hope this is not 'it' as NOT ready, bag not packed, no carpet down in our bedroom (happening tomorrow) and my DM who is looking after DD during labour is currently in Europe. Oh and I have only just ordered my TENS machine. And my DH is out.

Could it be Braxtns?

Find a contractions timer online to record any pains.

It could be a final engage into the ejector seat but could still be a while.

I thought I was going in to labour loads from 34 weeks with DC2. I think you are more aware of how things feel and so analyse everything a little bit more. In the end she came at 39 weeks. I def was more aware of my BH's and they were actually mildly painful with DC2 where as they weren't at all with dc1.

It may be braxton hicks, you get them more in 2+ pregnancies,
But they could also be a sign of something else,

Im 28 weeks and the other week had something similar,
Started having slight/mild contractions not painful just there,
Thought they where Braxton hicks, but....
They then started to get closer together,
And more painful!

I paniced thinking i was in labour (this is exactly how it started with DS1)
Phoned midwife who came to check, i was not in labour,

But she thought i may have a urine infection,
Took a sample to the Drs and it came back positve,
A week of antibiotics and i got the all clear,
I had non of the "usual" symptoms ie - smelly/dark/stinging urine,

Jen think I'm going to be the same, constantly thinking this is it.

Alison will keep that in mind, again something I had not thought of.

Nothing overnight but being constantly woken by baby moving and tightening, which I now think are just BH.

But my job of the day....pack a BAG!!!!

Thanks for replying!
