Hi,

When I was pregnant with DS, I joined a lovely thread for people who were pregnant after miscarriage which saw me thru the pregnancy.

DH and I have decided to try again next cycle and DS is only 6m old...I was wondering if there were any threads going for people planning pregnancy / pregnant with a small gap between DC?

I had a quick search and couldn't find anything so if anyone is part of a current thread could they let me have a link.....or if not, is anyone else interested in starting one up? Smile

Hi, this might not apply but we have a ttc whilst breastfeeding thread. All of our little ones are under 18months. Feel free to join us in obsessing about our fertile signs! Smile

Go for it. Ds2 was 8wks old when ds3 was conceived. If you feel ready and up for it then go for it! Grin

Good luck!!

Thanks jakey will have a look Smile

Wow notgrownup, can I ask whether you found the close gap between DC2 & 3 harder than (I am guessing) the longer gap first time? We have defo decided to go for it, but I am a bit nervous about being pregnant/giving birth again so soon.....and mostly about the effect on DC1?

i have 11 months between ds1 born 05/2007 and ds2 born 04/2008 i didnt find it much different from having one. reason i think is i was still changing nappies, making bottles ect there was never a gap. and ds2 was very good i hardly knew i had her. then when ds2 was 6 months i fell preg again and again it wasnt that much difference id be lying if i said it isnt hard at times but its something you just get on with. if you feel ready and youve got the support around you go for it, goodluck Smile

I second what Terilou said. So far Im finding it not as bad as I thought with the 2 babies but it only gets a bit stressful when they're both demanding my attention but one (the elder) has to wait a bit.

Having an 8 week gap between giving birth and getting pg again wasn't a great idea but it was a surprise and I would've liked a bit longer between the 2 mostly so I could recover properly.

I have several small gaps - and currently pregnant with DC5.

I had 11 months between DC's 1 and 2. Then gap of 3 years between DC2 & DC3. 13 months between DC3 & DC4 - and DC5 is due when DC4 will be about 14 months! I have never found looking after 2 babies close together hard - I have found the pregnancies much harder though - and I have to admit I am nearly on my knees having 3 pregnanies within 3 years! If you can put up with the pregnancies though I have found that having small age gaps is brilliant as they get older - as they are still at similar stages and interested in the same things, which you don't get with bigger age gaps.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Thanks everyone, it's good to hear real accounts of things not being much harder...I am mentally preparing myself for a barrage of 'was it planned' closely followed by 'are you mad' if we are successful!

The pregnancy/birth is a worry as I struggled thru PGP (relatively mild) with my first one and the labour took a few weeks to recover from fully and i won't have the luxury of doin nothing all day this time!
