Pregnancy

When did you start to show?

I'm 12+5 and definitely still feeling like I'm just looking a bit fat. Tummy is definitely rounder but is not yet what I would call a bump and just looks like a pasta dinner.

How long before I can proudly show off a clearly-pregnant bump and not just look like a porker please?

Currently on my second pregnancy and it wasn't really obvious to other until around 25 weeks and then if I wore loose clothing it wasn't too clear! Regular t shirts rather than maternity will show it more when there is a bump!

i was just wondering about again this morning. i am 15 + 2 and it looks like i have a bit of carb bloat.

of course i have now started to worry something is wrong as i am not really gaining weight! :)

I've only just started showing at 24 weeks and it's still tiny so if I wear anything baggy it just looks like flab (i'm a size 10)

I looked fat until about 18 weeks I think, then it started to look more like a bump. However even then it still depended a lot on what I wore - in trousers and loose top it looked more like fat, whereas in a more figure hugging dress it looked more like a bump. Only at about 26/27 weeks did it start to look like a bump in everything.

Same as minipie. Now 19+5 and been looking bump-like in tighter clothes for a while. Still look fat in looser clothes = I wear tighter clothes all the time Smile

I can get away with normal trousers till about 18 weeks, then generally have to move into maternity gear. But I have had people not realise I'm pregnant up to about 7 months before!

Some people noticed at playgroup last week at 25 weeks. Other than that, not really yet. The phase of looking a bit bigger and clothes not quite fitting has been a long one for me both times.

Strange how it seems to be very different for everyone!

In my case its got a lot to do with my long torso meaning I don't poke out as soon as other shorter-bodied women might.

15 weeks was when people who know me well could tell but probably 20 weeks for the casual bystander.

I'm also 15 weeks and people who know me well would be able to tell. I am usually very slim so look like I have a tiny little bump. To someone walking down the street it probably just looks fat.

I have been in mat trousers for 4 weeks now. I grew out of my normal jeans v quickly though have a few pairs in the next size up wich helped the inbetween stage they no longer fit. Last pg I ended up with a huge bump (my mw only mentioned this after I gave birth!) however I was told by some people they couldn't tell looking at the back of me. Looks like things may be similar this time.

Late... I tend to carry small, compact bumps. With db2 a girlfriend reported back to a mutual friend that I never lost the weight after ds1. I was already 36 weeks with dd1... With ds2 and dd2, I was never offered a seat on the tube/subway in either London or NYC.

I've only just started to look "properly" pregnant ie without having to parade around naked asking DH if I looked preggers & I'm now 37 weeks! Think when baby PL ran out of room to grow up, he had to grow out at about 33 weeks. Funny though as I'm quite petite; a size 10 & only 5'2 (although I've in addition grown out of my size 10 maternity jeans in the last fortnight & am now left with shorts only & I'm too tight to get another pair for the last 2 weeks. Oh Autumn, how I love you..) My mw said that cause I did lots of sports and outdoor stuff that's probably why I didn't show for so long i loved my mw for that, even though quite frankly she is usually a bit clueless

I actually looked more pregnant in the first 14 weeks when I had a round bloated tummy. To the extent that my class kept saying "ooh, miss, are you pregnant?" piss off you rude little sods Then it disappeared, got married at 6 months & noone could tell. Bet if I have another I'll be the size of a house by week 5... Grin

I'm pregnant with my 1st. Family/ friends could see a proper bump at 20 weeks. Strangers started asking my due date around 25-26 weeks.

I am only ten weeks but just asked DH to get my maternity clothes down from the attic this morning! In certain clothes it is already obvious- but this is my 4th pregnancy, third within a year (2 mcs), so perhaps I have snapped back into uplyduff shape much quicker than most. Not ideal as am hoping to keep schtum for as long as possible!

i'm 22 weeks and it still depends what i wear, and i'm only 5'2.

i think empire line is the most flattering in that it defines your bump and makes you look pregnant rather than just fat.

you also have to look very obviously pregnant before people will comment or offer you a seat, as people are scared of getting it wrong!

tfl will send you a 'baby on board' badge which you can wear if you want to make it obvious Smile although i quite enjoyed keeping people guessing.

Lots of you aren't showing until quite late. IRL I know lots of women who are showing good bumps around the 18 week mark...even on their first! I definately have a bump when naked (16 weeks) but, unless I'm wearing a tight T-shirt, you probably couldn't tell. Last pg, I wasn't showing proper until about 7 months (about 28 weeks I think). When it did pop out it looked enormous as I'm short. Is it true you show earlier in later pregnancies?

I will go insane if I just look fat for the next 15 weeks!! Grin

I'm on my first and I had a definite bump at 10 weeks. Was in mat. jeans at 7 weeks! I'm 24 weeks and look gigantic. Guess the hormones are strong with this one (I was also ill for 5 months...).

Wore my normal jeans to my 20 week scan with dc1, proper bump just after. Was still going to gym every night after work (I miss the gym sooo much) for hour and s half/two hours.

Dc2 mat trousers on by 10 weeks Blush proper bump from about 15 weeks.

Still wearing normal size 12 jeans (almost 11 weeks) yet my pants seem to be getting tight Blush very bloated too as abandoned Slimming World and enjoying eating lots of granary bread and replaced wine with chocolate Grin.

I look fine in the morning but looking quite portly by evening Smile

I'm 14 weeks. At 4 weeks and 3 days lady at church asked me was I expecting again! Blush. Have had a proper bump for several weeks. If I told someone I was due in November no one would bat an eye. This is DC3. I attribute it to DC1 being close to 10 pounds.
