Got to hospital 3cm dilated. They say they'd send me home if i dont get to 4cm by the next check up. How long does it take to get from 3 to 4 cm dilated? They said it could take days. Really?

I never got further than 4cm as DS was back to back and stuck so yep can take a long time.

I went 2cm-10cm in 4 hours, every labour is different, good luck!

Everyone is different. I did 1 cm in 1 hour, then nothing for a few hours, then 1-10cm in about an hour.

I just hope they won't kick me out and send me home. It's so stressful to think when I can go to hospital once I get home. I much rather just stay in the hospital given I'm more or less 4cm dilated anyway

I got sent home at half 12, not even started dilating, was back 3 hours later pushing. Everyone is different. Could take days, could take seconds.

Fingers crossed it's quick and you don't have to go back home again!

Good luck!

Just echoing everyone else, every labour is different. Took me 4 days to get from 2-7cm, then an hour from 7cm-birth.

It took an hour for the whole labour thing, start to finish for me!

A long time (6 hours maybe more) my waters had broken with merconium in them so the midwives waited a certain amount of time to see if my labour would progress naturally. It didn't so I had to go on a drip to speed things up due to the merconium in my waters. So really I didnt go from 3 until 4cm until they speeded things up.

For me 4 days to get to 3 cms and then another 16hrs to get to 6cms Shock DS was stuck and although I enjoyed the drugs I ended up with and EMCS. Having a ELCS this time.

3-5cm in the hour it took the ambulance to take me in through deep snow. Then progressed at about 1cm every 20 minutes.

Hi, I have now been in very slow labour since Thursday, pains get stronger and closer at night, I'm only 3cm and can't seem to budge any further! I'm trying everything to get my waters to break as midwife has told me there literally bulging, I'm now 41+2 and have had enough!
Anyone any tips or advice because I think I may be like this until I get induced on Wednesday 😩
