Owcha!! Gall bladder pain..

So much for glowing during pregnancy! I've never been so poorly or had so many tests. Starting to feel like total hypochondriac. The latest is an agonising stabbing pain - actually brought me to tears and I panicked I was losing the baby. Seems from NHS 24 it was most likely gall bladder pain (tests to follow!). I've never even heard of this before and (as I have no chance of sleeping tonight so may as well make use of my time) wondered what this means? All experiences welcomed!

Gall bladder pain is caused by gall stones either blocking the bile duct which is known as biliary colic and is extraordinarily painful. Otherwise gallstones can grind away at the gall bladder wall causing inflamation.

Try to stay away from fatty food, spicey food and alcohol until you had tests. Get to A&E if you are in severe pain.

You will likely need your gall bladder out after you have had your baby.

This happened to me last year. Def go to A&E if pain is bad - mine did get reallllllly painful. They can do a scan to see what's going on...

I had my gall bladder removed and all is well!

It is okay unless I try to recline or lie down (laughing also agony but that isnt an issue at the moment..) but I don't feel able to drive myself to hospital and DH needs to stay at home to look after 15 month old DS. Currently propped upright on pillws in bed. Took me 15 mins and lots of help from DH to get here. Now trying to gradually shuffle myself into lying position. No idea what I will do when inevitably need to pee in hour or so!
