First scan.. Excited but nervous

Morning! I'm too excited/nervous to sleep. Have my first scan today. It's early At 6 weeks because I had an ectopic last year and they have to monitor me more. Feeling paranoid I won't see anything, like the last time I had a scan. I do have a good feeling though!

What's it like seeing your little jellybean for the first time? I'll hopefully find out soon :)

I never get much sleep the night before any of my scans either.

I had a scan at 6+2 and we couldn't see much but we could make out the heartbeat, the whole tiny baby flickered!

I had to have an internal scan thou and I've heard that some people can't see anything this early but hopefully you will see the heartbeat.

Be sure and let us know how you get on.

Haven't had my first scan yet, but can't wait for it! Let us know how it goes today :)

Good luck!! I had a scan at 6+4 with DS, it was breathtaking seeing my son for the first time (I cried Blush ) and although looking back he was just an egg-shaped blob on the screen that flickered with each heartbeat, it was amazing! Also such a relief as I'd been getting severe pains and was concerned re miscarriage, was fantastic to know everything was fine.
Mine wasn't an internal scan by the way, was a normal ultrasound.

Thanks for your comments and support. I'm less excited now. Mores nervous. Feel a bit tearful now actually. Possibly anticipation with reality hitting me. I've not had it yet, just drinking lots of liquid to make sure I have a full bladder. Not difficult at all considering my nerves!

Thanks again x

Good luck. More likely to be dildo can at 6 weeks so may not need a full bladder. All the best, don't freak out if no heartbeat, sometime 6 weeks is a little early. Got everything crossed for you.

Back from the scan ( no dildo can thankfully! )We managed to see a little blob, which means it's in the right place. Even saw the tinest flicker of a heartbeat! Was pretty amazing! It's still very early, about 5 weeks. But so far so good. Very relieved! Next step is seeing the midwife.

Also the lady doing the scan did comment on
my full bladder! I ran straight for the loo afterwards :)
