Anyone else sick all day?

My sickness started about a week ago and is just getting worse and worse. I seem to feel sick all day along with cramping from the minute I wake up till I go to bed. Is anyone else getting this? I know morning sickness is normal but I'm so fed up with it - I don't know how to cope with it for another 6 months!

I felt sick constantly from 7 weeks to 15ish weeks. It doesn't last forever for most, it's the exception rather than the rule.

yeah, I'm there too. Am 7 weeks and am pretty much in bed all day for about the last 5 days, eating pretty restricted diet and throwing up a fair bit. its hard eh? Don't let yourself get hungry......thats when i feel worse. find some snacks that you can manage and just keep nibbling or sipping so you don't get an empty stomach. Good luck!

Reassuring that it's not just me! Just realised I wrote I can't cope with this for another 6 months - I meant weeks! I am 6 weeks now. Really not with it! I'll have a go wih the trying to not let myself get hungry thing - thanks for the tip. I told my boss at work today because it's too hard to hide when I feel like this and I am this tired all the time!

Yep, feeling exactly the same. Nausea from the minute I wake up to when I go to sleep, only seems to go away when I eat something sugary, but even then it's only temporary... Plus if I keep controlling it that way I am going to get very fat very quickly!!! :(

Yep. Not throwing up, but generally pretty nauseous all the way through the day, and during the night. Only time I don't feel ill is when I'm actually asleep (and even then I sometimes dream about it).

Eating is key for me. Eat eat eat. That generally gives me 10mins of freedom until it starts up again.

Am 8+1. With DD it lessened off at around 14weeks: still remember the first time the clouds lifted and I felt normal again. Was amazing :)

Me too and it gets worse as the day goes on. Usually with me it stops around 15 weeks. I did have it all the way through in one pg though

My sickness was so bad in both pg that I was in and out of hospital with hyperemisis until 15 weeks. It was just the most horrific time of my life. But - all the sickness dissapeared totally at 15 weeks. Hang in there!

Yes! Sick all day -well, not actually sick, just feeling it- sleepy, weepy, unable to work...
I can't believe it's this bad, I mean I have friends who've been pregnant, and they all seemed to hold it together so well! I just want to crawl back to bed and cry all day, but it's just not an option, especially when most people don't even know I'm pregnant (8 weeks). Sad
Doctor gave me some drugs for it (metoclopramide), but said not to use unless absolutely desperate. I think I AM desperate, but really scared of becoming dependent on them, and they can't be good for the baby can they? How bad does it have to be before I can start taking them?
And why the hell are all the things people recommend as being "good for someone in your condition" things I hate??!! Like ginger, herbal teas, tonic water... Grrrrr!

Yes for the first trimester i was sick from the day after we conceived to about 14 wks. I wasn't actually sick but had that awful nauseous feeling. It seemed to peak about 4pm. Trying to work in a new job and learn new systems while not crawling under the desk and crying was so hard. I have honestly never felt so unwell in my life.

However, after it passed I did feel fantastic after 16 wks and feel totally amazing now at 34 wks. :) I don't want the pregnancy to end - i can't believe i only have 6 wks to go :(

Twiglets and lemon and ginger tea settled me a bit - Constant eating of very dry things.

Good luck

I thought it was kind of normal to feel rough the whole time?? I have a constant hangover feeling on top of the nausea and just assumed everyone felt like this. Haven't felt normal since about 3dpo!!

And if one more person tells me to try some ginger I will not be responsible for my actions... Why everyone thinks it's a wonder cure for every pregnant woman I don't know.

(sorry Spuddy - not a dig at you, just at the 'helpful' GPs who think every woman's morning sickness can be cured by a ginger biscuit before she gets out of bed...).

I know how your feeling :-(

I am 10 weeks and from being 6 weeks up until last week I was being sick all day everyday, I couldnt even keep fluids down most days. I work full time and had already taken quite alot of time off so had to try and work whilst running to the toilet every half hour.

I tried all the recommended things like ginger nuts, peppermint, sipping drinks and eating little and often but nothing seem to work.

I felt like I had no energy and was close to fainting most days until it got so bad I went to see my GP who told me I was close to dehydration and would end up in hospital. She prescribed me tablets called cyclizine which seem to have worked. I am still being sick but where it was all day its now once or twice a day.

Hope it subsides for you soon xx

This morning I ate a couple of crackerbreads when I woke up and then waited about 15 mins before getting up and went straight down and had some breakfast and it seemed to help, I've eaten little an often for the rest of the day and have been less sick which has been amazing! Still very tired and emotional though - can't wait for my second trimester!

They are not harmful for you in pregnancy and you can't get hooked to them. Start taking them and if they don't work you can ask for safe alternatives such as cyclizine. You're Dr shouldn't be telling you only to use metoclopramide if you are desperate because they are there for symptom control and you shouldn't be made to feel bad for using them.

I was sick from about 5 weeks- 25 weeks and I only discovered ice cubes by the end of it- seriously if you're struggling with water like I was ice is a godsent!

i've been given metoclopramide too. start taking them. from the advice i've had from my family, all of whom had hyperemesis with all of their pregnancies, is the key is not to let things get desperate before you start tkaing them, otherwise it is too difficult to get back on top of things. get taking the tablets, and if they don't work for you, go back to the gp - there are a few types they can try you on which are OK to use in pregnancy. The other main thing is absolutely not to let yourself get dehydrated if you can help it - sip fluids every half hour - any fluids!

Good luck. Today i had a little cuddle with my friends' 13day old little boy and it really reminded me why we are all doing this. One day, all this will be a memory and we will have the most brilliant little ones! Keep positive - we will get there!!!!

This is actually my first post. I started getting rolling all day nausea at 6 weeks exactly. Just being in the kitchen was enough to make me sick, and I haven't been near a food shop in months. The best solution is to simply lay down, though sea-bands took the edge off a bit (not much). I'm now 14 weeks and it's not lifted. It lifted for about a week at 11 weeks, and I stuffed normal food in, but it came back with a vengeance. Instead of being sick once a day it's now twice a day! Waiting it out... I can't wait to eat fruit again. There's almost nothing I can eat.

It does get better ladies- eventually. I think the best advice I got was to just listen to my body (I feel like such a noob saying it) and feed it what it wanted.
