I'm a bit worried about this

I had a smear test almost a month ago, third try as first 2 went wrong due to human error and not enough cells collected. I haven't heard anything with regard to whether it is all clear or not. I have a GP apt on Monday because the nurse saw a cyst when she was taking the smear and she said it was very common but at the time I mentioned I had been having pelvic pain. I didn't know then that I was pregnant.

Do you think the GP is waiting until Monday to give me bad news? Normally they just write out and say all clear.

GP doesn't know I am pregnant as was going to discuss this next week.

Should I be worried?

I can't really advise you - I don't know - but if you are worried I think you should call and ask the GP to call you - tell the receptionist you have since discovered that you are pregnant and are concerned - and then you won't have to wait until Monday to know more
Good luck

They might just want to see you to discuss the cyst. I had one a few years ago and was sent to Gynae Dept at hosp for internal scan to determine size. Then went back again 6 weeks later for size check and it had gone (a lot of cysts just come and go without you knowing).

The pelvic pain might have just been linked to the early pg moving and stretching of ligaments and not necessarily a cyst.

Try not to worry too much. Hopefully it's just to discuss referral for cyst scan.

I'd be surprised if it was connected to your pregnancy. I had a smear on 29/5, I would have been about 3 weeks pregnant. I was lucky enough that it came back clear, but there was no mention of anything else in the letter / nor did the nurse mention anything.

I believe the letters with the results of the smear tests come from the screening service, not the GP (at least where I live), so I doubt they will be giving you the result at your GP appointment (though you could ask them if they have been sent the result yet, in case your letter has been delayed). IME if you don't hear anything after any sort of test it's generally good news - if there was anything wrong I think they would be contacting you straight away, not waiting for an appointment you made to discuss the cyst / pelvic pain.

I had a cyst (on my ovary) in early pg, but it just went on its own. I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't had an early scan.

I don't think you need worry. I'm very sorry you had to have 3 tests done though, which is bound to make you a bit more worried!
