Feeling sick and metallic taste and not even five weeks yet - help

I'm only 2 mins pregnant. Well a little longer - about five weeks. Already feel quite sick and have constant metallic taste. Please no suggestions of twins - I refuse to countenance that. But is it normal and what can I do? Didn't hit until week 7 with dd.

Hi Yellowflowers. Sounds very normal to me, I think you can experience the nausea different with every pregnancy and maybe you're more tired this time round which always made my sickness worse.

I started feeling sick around 6 weeks with both DD1 and DD2. Now pregnant with DC3 and the metallic taste was my first symptom - don't even think I was 4 weeks when it started, which just seems weird, but was what prompted me to take the test. Started the sickness around 7 weeks this time, and am starting to feel very slightly (touch wood) better now around 10 weeks, although still sick feeling better in between!

Eating and drink regularly helps me, literally every hour to keep sickness at bay! The novelty of eating quickly wore off.

Hope things improve quickly for you - you have my sympathies - hate the first trimester, although keep reminding myself how lucky I am too!

Good luck

I've been having waves of nausea too and I'm only 4weeks+3 (I think) - it didn't hit until much later with DS - different pregnancies, different symptoms! the tiredness is the same though!

I'm 7 weeks now but have felt sick on and off since 4 weeks and had the metalic taste then too. This is also my second and I feel everything is happening a bit earlier than I noticed with my first...
But may be it's because we now reconise the symtoms where as with the first we didnt know what were looking for?

Thanks for the replies. Feel ok today which obv just makes me worry...

But hadn't thought about the tiredness link. It was worse yesterday and I was exhausted after a bad night with dd

Don't panic - I had that metallic taste at 10 days pregnant (!) - my mum had warned me that her first sign of pregnancy was a metallic taste.

It definitely does happen early - I'm proof! We started TTC 24th Feb, I had an implantation bleed on 29th Feb, then felt sick on 3rd March... I just thought it was dodgy periods. Nope, one week later I tested and the Clear Blue showed 1-2 weeks pregnant! I've felt sick every single day since. Mostly actually vomiting in the evening though rather than the morning. What's worked for me is eating constantly, but little bits great big hunking doorstops of bread and cheese drinking lots of water and crackers. Lots and lots of those Kallo rice cracker things...
