Hi all im new to this but i was wondering what symptoms of twins did every one have before scan. I am 10 weeks and i have a strong feeling im having twins. I have had really bad morning ( all day) sickness, i have felt movement and can feel the top of my womb. I already have 3 children but i did miscarry twins. I knew strait away with my 3 children what i was having but i am unsure with this pregnancy. My scan is on 24th april 2 weeks away cant wait to find out!!

I felt really sick - I had to get signed off from work for a fortnight in the first trimester and then again a bit later on - much worse than when I'd had my DD1. I also had a hard bump that switched sides - that I could feel much earlier than your supposed to.

Im also signed off work my doc gave me 4 weeks coz im getting bad pains and sickness is unbelivable. pains are coz i got a retroverted uterus and its stretching ligaments as its going back to normal position. I dont no if maybe im being paranoid from my miscarriage as that was twins. Cant wait to find out tho. How far along were you when you found out?

I had no symptoms really. I was very tired but put that down to having to look after a 18 month old. At weeks 8-10 I joked a LOT about "what will I do if it's twins" but never really believed it would be. Everyone told me it would never be twins. But I did have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about twins at this stage. I had no reason to expect twins (not assisted conception, no recent twins in family). By 12 weeks I was over the whole twins thing and blithely went into the scan, to be pretty shocked when I found out it was twins! I wasn't any bigger until about 16 weeks when I suddenly exploded.
Congratulations on your pregnancy, whether it's one or two (or more!)

By 7 weeks I was in maternity trousers.

(Hi GlassofRed Smile
The potty training is still going well, though Mr PotatoHead got more than he bargained for yesterday and had to go in the bin Grin)

I found out at the 12 week scan too - wow what a shock - I had thought about it before but by the time I went into the scan, all I was thinking is "I hope it's OK".

I am also 10 weeks, have terrible pregnancy sickness (hyperemesis) am currently signed off work. I can also feel the top of my uterus, just above my c/s scar. Last night I said to DP, I know its crazy, but I swear I can feel a scraping movement inside me just behind my pubic bone.

I have had 2 scans, and there is most definitely just one baby in there! I guess you will just have to see at your scan!

I hope there is just one i dont think i could cope with twins plus the three I have already, but I suppose you just get on with it if it happens. Then again I like the thaught of twins. Will have to let all no how the scan goes.

My family have been ribbing me about having twins, my sister always asks me how twinnies are. I will be in my maternity pants tomorrow (9 weeks) but that's just because I've been very fat lately and haven't bothered to try breathing in like I usually do. My scan is on the 25th.

My bean is called Angus McRonald, does anyone else have a bump name? Infact, i'll just start a new thread :)

Terrible morning sickness. Mind you my friend had it just as badly as me and she didn't have twins. I was very tired too but like Chesticles put it down to being pregnant with a toddler to look after. Pretty tricky really when I couldn't go near the kitchen to make her any food without throwing upBlush.

Congratulations! However many you haveSmile

My husband keeps joking it's twins. I'm pregnant with our first so have zero frame of reference for how I'm feeling/looking and we both have twins in our families.

At 12 weeks (scan today - yeehaw!) I feel like I am huge. Only in the bump area, but can't fit into any of my clothes. I'm usually a 10, and five foot two - so I look like a barrel already! It starts about an inch or two inwards from the sides of my hips, is VERY pert, it swells out from my pubic bone and upwards and increasingly is getting bigger and harder. At first I thought it was just bloat? But it's massive!

I actually can't get my head around it. I took pictures for my mum and when she saw them, she immediately said I had my dates wrong. But I was doing OV sticks and know exactly the window of conception that month and I had my January period. But she keeps saying - maybe it wasn't a period, maybe it just wasn't - you don't look 12 weeks!

I really thought I'd be waiting ages and ages for my bump and I think part of me is a little shocked at the size and..."bumpness" of it. I was being consistently offered seats on the Tube from about 7 weeks. Is it normal for it to be this big? I mean - they're no bigger than a fig at this stage so how can the bump be so big?

Sorry, thread hijack Blush I think I am just genuinely a little worried.

I had no symptoms at all and twins hadn't even crossed my mind. It was a very big shock at the 12 week scan Grin

Had no symptoms and was a huge shock at the 12 week scan. The 2nd time I kind of suspected it when I was very very sick and was in maternity clothes at 8 weeks

Mine's called simply 'The Grape.' I even wrote a poem about it to my husband...trying to take my mind off nausea...

His name was Grape
He was a babe
Within the womb he lay
And every night and every day
With mommy he would play.

He'd make her sick
He'd make her sleep
He really had some fun!
And feeling cushy
In the driver's seat
He'd rule over his mum.

Well to be fair and to be square,
It wasn't all his fault
The only language he could speak
Was that of hormonal war.

His hormones rage against the odds,
The stomach, glands and such
Until he got the very best
Of what his mum could touch,
What she could see and smell and eat
So that one sunny day
He'd step into this good old world and this to her would say:

'Oh thank you mummy very much,
One day I'll understand
Just what you went through
When my wife
To a babe will give birth.. and
I'll be right there by her side,
If she ever feels unwell
I'll give her food and of my childhood
Good stories I will tell.'

We think the Grape he is a boy,
Quite confident you see
Cos we've been dreaming of his face
For ever, you and me.

I don't have twins, but have quite a few friends and family members with them. They say that they felt really really tired very early on and got big soon too.

Unlike my MiL who didn't know she was having them until she delivered one and the midwife said "we're going to just do it all over again for the next one, it won't be long I can see the other head".....

My Dad is a twin & my DH keeps going on about twins, as I'm so much sicker & tired than with my DD. The MW had a poke about today & said I don't feel unexpectedly big for 8+ wks so its unlikely, but I feel much, much bigger than first time around to me.

The trouble is, my DH was adamant my DD was a girl from early on &, admittedly, that's a 50:50 guess, but he is just as certain that this is multiple, I'm a tad concerned!! No date for my scan yet, so guess I'll just have to wait.

I guess though, that whilst sickness is more common/extreme with multiples, there are people that get HG, for example, with a singleton too....

1 week 2 days till my scan cant wait, I have a tilted uterus so at 8 week also could not feel anything. But my fundus is half way to my belly button now I will be 12 week at scan, my midwife has not felt my stomach yet and im not due to see her till after the scan to ask if its normal, I have read that c sec scar can affect fundus hight and iv had a c sec. But iv still got that feeling that it is twins. Also I am over weight but I am still showing.
Also in reply to chuncky chicken, I get what you mean by your dad just knows. My dad also knew this and "guessed" sex of each of my pregnancys and he also thinks twins and said boy and girl this time. All we can do is wait. Grr soo annoying!!!
