Shocked to find out I was three months pregnant!

Hello all. Well I have ds (3 yrs) and dd (7 years) and guess what? In January to my shock and horror I discovered I was pregnant again. I was using protection and I am 40 so I really had not planned on having a third child. My husband is twelve years old than me and is never at home as he has a very demanding job. I have no family near me. I am dreading it all! I realised I must be pregnant at the end of January when my menstruation did not come. In November and Decemeber I had had light menstruation so did not suspect anything abnormal. Then (after avoiding the pharmacies for weeks) I decided I had to do the test. When it came out positive I was in real shock. My son is due to start school and I am so ready to go back to work and find work again and get my life back together (ds has been a real challenge!). The doctor sent me for an early pregnancy scan and what a shock! On thinking I was only 20 days pregnant I saw the picture of a baby and was informed I had a three month old baby inside me! I burst into tears! The baby is expected for July. I am beginning to get more comfortable with the idea but I really was not planning this. I have even given away all my kid's clothes etc sure that I was never planning on having more children! I sure hope everything will be okay.

Congratulations! I found out I was pregnant at 20 weeks so I know how you feel!
Luckily everyone around me were so pleased that it rubbed off on me and I got over the shock pretty quickly.
Just think, most of the worst part is out of the way and it's less time to have to wait for a glass of wine Wink
