I really feel for you.. I had this for weeks. I can't guarantee it will stop but for most people it tails off around 12-14 weeks.

Just eat whatever you can keep down and don't worry at this stage. Try to keep hydrated and eat little and often as it can be worse if you get hungry. If you are being sick a lot and become dehydrate best to see the dr for nausea meds.

Fingers crossed it passes soon for you.. There are things you can try like sucking sweets/ preggo pops/ anti nausea bands on your wrists etc

It will stop eventually, and before it does you'll learn ways of minimising it. I had to be almost constantly snacking as I didn't get my normal hunger cues, I just went straight to throwing up. And getting DH to bring me something to eat as he came to bed (I'd have been in bed since 8pm) and also first thing in the morning before I got out of bed.

It is grotty isn't it! I am now 16 weeks and the nausea has only tailed off in the last fortnight or so. It was always worse when I was hungry so I took to eating salty snacks constantly to stave it off. I now have a wee bit of a spare tyre over my bump Blush

Oh yeah that's a really good tip about having something in bed before you get up. I used to take a couple of digestives/rich tea biscuits to bed on a night and eat them as soon as I woke even if I didn't feel sick, then wait a minute before getting up.

Try ginger biscuits or dry toast little and often during the day rather than big meals

Sucking boiled sweets worked for me - I had a constant supply of cherry drops and pear drops in my bag... my poor teeth! I'm 14w now and it's just about subsiding.

I second ginger biscuits (Waitrose used to do reduced fat ones with stem ginger, think they only do full fat now). And the eating straight away advice (I felt like I'd stepped onto the Titantic mid-sink if I didn't have something first)

Congratulations, BTW!

Just don't let yourself get hungry. Snack constantly. I used to eat:

Clemetines
Toast and real butter
Melon
Grapes
Crumpets
Kitkats
Bananas
Crackers
Cheddars
Cereal
Raw Carrot sticks
Ginger biscuits
Ready salted crisps

Just simple foods. I ate like that for the whole first trimester (couldn't stomach any flavors like garlic, onion, meat)

I threw up around 3 x a day until 17 weeks as well as that nausea feeling and going to the loo to heave (sorry tmi). I used to eat cereal at 3am!

It was the worse time of my life but I kept telling myself it was worth it (we had IVF too so I felt immensely guilty for being so miserable and hating the first trimester when friends around me were trying to conceive ) but it DOES get better. I bloomed in trimester 2 and 3 (or so I was told by so many people how fab my hair, skin and bump looked Grin)

I've got dd now and it's all a distant memory!

Take care Wink

Thanks, I will try and stock up on food and snacks.

I had no sickness at all with DD so this is a bit of a shock. And I am struggling taking care of her and coping myself.

DH is doing as much as he can but he works...this is horrible.

I am so so happy but so so sick. I'll try all the tips. Thank you.
