1st pregnancy and im 26 weeks, i have no idea what to expect especially symptom wise so today there i am looking round in mothercare when i start to go dizzy, really hot and feel like i'm going to faint with a pain in my side, i cry out to my mil who starts to panic and calls a member of staff over.

im crying at this point thinking im going into a very early labour and if i feel so bad now i wont be able to give birth as the pain was so bad down my side, so as everyone in the shop by this point has heard us flapping i now have an audience watching me, after a few minutes of me panting and gasping and wondering whether i need an ambulance i suddenly feel the urge to wee - terrified in case my waters are breaking in the middle of the store i waddle to the toilet which luckily wasn't too far away, and there it was mid wee.... i did the longest and loudest fart ive ever done in my life right in mothercare toilets, and suddenly the pain was gone.

so that was my early labour.... trapped wind and a big fart! i had to come out looking very embarrassed and pretending i was still in a bit of pain and made mil leave the shop with me, god knows who heard me, there was a little queue when i came out. i can never show my face in that store again and id be surprised if i dont end up in the local papers funny bits corner Blush

That is truly brilliant!! Hats off to you! Haha! Seriously, I'm glad it was nothing more sinister than a massive fart Vix Grin

Vix :(

Serves the nosy bastards right for gawping at you, the last thing you'd have needed if it was early labour was a bloody audience.

In your shoes I'd have been mortified too, but in my head I'd have wanted to come out and said loudly 'OOH, THAT'S GOING TO NEED A MINUTE' whilst wafting vigorously.

Don't worry about going back in anyway, Mothercare's full of mainly overpriced tat Wink

I think thats what it was flisspaps, the shock at the prices of cot bedding in there caused my earlier diet coke to erupt in an almighty explosion, just took a while to come out!

truly never known pain like it, if labour was anything like that today i really dont think ill survive it!

Vix - I'm so pleased it was just trapped wind... you might not be able to tolerate fizzy drinks during your pregnancy.

Trapped wind is bloody painful though isn't it. At least you didn't let loose with your wee on the shop floor Wink

Trapped wind is horrible so so painful!
Don't worry labour is a completely different kind of pain.
Poor you, glad you are ok though.
The first time I had trapped wind I honestly thought something was really wrong with me!

HILARIOUS! I'm sneakily reading this at work and started to do the 'shoulder shake' from trying not to burst out laughing. Trapped wind can be blooming painful (and sometimes funny).

Thanks for sharing - very funny!!!

Trapped wind can hurt so much - I'm sure it's all your innards being squished by the baby that does it.

I'm sure the staff at mothercare have had worse happen though (they must be beset by people peeing, puking etc on the floor what with the number of pg women and potty training toddlers coming in), so be proud you made it to the toilet!

Thanks for sharing! I let out a snort of laughter and nearly woke DS up!

Trapped wind is awful! As another poster said labour is a different kind of pain and you will go into a different zone in your head so its not so painful x

Ah well... im so glad i cheered you all up, if when i do get to labour and i find the pain equally as terrifying as the trapped wind incident i shall be coming for those who promised me different! mark my words!! Smile

God, I miss being pregnant, when every sneeze came with a complimentary fart.

Glad you're ok. That must have been scary, pre-trump.
