I had forgotten just how grim early pregnancy is

Or maybe it is worse this time because I am so much older?

The tiredness is appalling, I am dreading the week at work ahead. I have parents evening (three late nights) coming up and I really don't know how I am going to cope. The more tired I am the sicker I feel too. I can't concentrate on anything properly because of the sickness. I am talking crap and I forgot how to spell porridge whilst writing it on the board Blush

I have severely held it against my DH because I am too knackered and sick to go out to a friend's birthday celebration tonight (obviously it is his fault Grin).

God, I am a moaning old cow already and I am only nine weeks. Hopefully this will stop soon. and then I start complaining about the indigestion

I see, you are all skipping around happily, saying things like
"It's not a illness you know"

I think it gets harder every time you do it - and, of course, each time you do it you are older.
It's massively grim. Hang in there. Do your best to rest as much as possible, eat what you need and when you need to in order to keep sickness at bay, and push all but essential chores to the side. And moan away, particularly to DH as he is contractually obliged to be sympathetic. Hopefully it will stop soon x

This is my first and I hear you. No one ever told me this bit was so hard. Although I'm also 9 weeks and feel like I might be slightly better. Or it might be the anti sickness pills.

Thank you for your sympathy.

I really appreciate it. Especially the knowledge that DH is contractually obliged to be sympathetic.

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and starting to feel much better, most of the time. I've figured out that I need to eat bigger at midday and smaller in evenings. This helps my energy levels and nausea.

This is my second. The first was pretty much a breeze (ignoring the start-finish heartburn and puffy ankles at the end).

You know it will pass soon though, because you've been there before.

I too hate every second MNIFW, and this is my third. And the worst so far. I get SPD too.

God, sixteen weeks is terrible. Last time I felt better by about 12 weeks or I did till the back pain started. I suppose I should think of those poor souls with HE. That must be grim beyond words.

I AM a miserable hag, that spells it out exactly.

My midwife said that if I felt that bad there was always the possibility it was twins Shock

We need a miserable hag thread Grin. I sigh endlessly.

As I lay in bed last night, flatulent and incredibly nauseated, I surveyed my bloated body (this is my 6th pregnancy, 3rd one to have progressed to the end of the first trimester) with dismay. I am spotty, greasy, slightly hairy and terrifyingly emotional. If you're a hag, so am I Grin

Oh god I hear you! Third pregnancy for me, only 8 weeks and don't know how I will get through the next 32! Good luck to us all :)

Can I join the hag club?! I am nearly 11 weeks; 4th time around for me; nauseous, knackered and miserable. I HATE being pregnant, HATE it, but keep putting myself through it.

Just keep intoning to myself like a mantra: "this soon will pass, this soon will pass"....

Tell me it's worth it, oldtimers?

AliceHurled, it is just like labour, as soon as the baby is in your arms you forget to horid journey it took to get there.

I have a bloated body and terrifying emotions.

I nearly murdered DH earlier because he forgot to put the chicken in the fridge last night. I wanted a chicken sandwich. I couldn't have one and I wanted to hit him with the bread knife.

It might not be an illness but it makes you feel bloody ill. I am so glad I only had all day sickness with my second DC as there was no way I wanted to risk it again. The house stank of sick for the bext part of a month and I was drugged up on anti-sickness pills.

Hope you start to feel better soon.

It is worth it, children are lovely and scrummy.

It is just pregnancy that is hell.

alice - there's no way we'd be going through this hell repeatedly if it wasn't completely worth it once our newborns were in our arms!!! :)

Yup, I'm finding it much harder this time around. I seem to be very tetchy at home and impatient with my DS and DH and absent-minded and dim at work and sick, sick, sick and tired all the time.

While I'm sure it was all less gruelling last time, my MS disappeared at 11.5 weeks and I sailed through the rest of pregnancy without the slightest difficulty so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a smoother ride starting very soon.
