New on here so hi!

I have recently done a test using a Sainsburys tester and the result is attached, there is definitely a faint blue line but my concern is that Iv'e heard these type of testers are not too accurate! very confused!

any help much appreciated

Well ladies.... Clear blue digital said yes!!grin Now I'm off to start a new thread about pregnancy after miscarriage....

I had a test result like this twice - two in a packet - probably the same generic type but from Boots. Looked just like that - thin vertical line off to one side. Both false negatives unfortunately.

Blackholes I would try a first response early response (pink dye) or a Superdrug sensitive test (purple dye) which don't seem to give false positives or evap lines so much.

Apparently pink dye is much more reliable than blue!

Had no idea sainsbury's tests were so inaccurate, mine was right (17 weeks pregnant now) but I think the line on mine was darker than that. Maybe just try again in a day or two? The wondering must drive you crazy though.

Thanks catpuss. I'm obsessing slightly (!) because I had a miscarriage and just desperately want to be pregnant again. Can't start a new thread as I'll just spend even morse time on the Internet on my phone (if that is indeed possible!)

SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss Tue 29-Jan-13 20:32:07

If you started a new thread, you might get a few more answers. X

Well all you can do is just test again in a few days I suppose. If you still feel pg but get no positive, then see the GP for a blood test. Waiting is crap isn't it!

BlackholesAndRevelations Tue 29-Jan-13 20:18:45

Same, sainsbury's own. If you can look at the picture posted upthread, it looks identical to that.

SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss Tue 29-Jan-13 19:26:50

Same test or different brand?

BlackholesAndRevelations Tue 29-Jan-13 19:17:00

I've just dragged this thread up from a google search on sainsbury's tests and evap lines. I have exactly what is in marinas picture but a bfn today sad

Would be really interested to know what marina's outcome was!

I kept getting negative on the digital ones, found tescos own to be excellent, I didnt get a positive on the clear blue until I was 10 days after my period was due however tesco's said positive from the start it put me in a right spin for the first week

MrsLK Thu 09-Feb-12 11:09:37

Hi Marina

I sat and stared at my two Sainsbury's tests for hours!

Best advice I can give is definitely use a digital one - I did that two days ago and it finally gave me a definite positive!Phew!

OTTMummA Wed 08-Feb-12 22:20:37

just get a clear blue digital, so much easier! hard to take in though, just the word pregnant! no denying that smile good luck!

helenlouisey Wed 08-Feb-12 21:26:51

What brand was the latest test you did ? It's possible this test was less sensitive than the sainsburys test. Id get a first response as very reliable and not heard of too many problems with evap lines and are very sensitive. Best of luck x

OhBrotherWhereArtThou Wed 08-Feb-12 20:43:36

Agree completely with rightontime

I have used those tests for a couple of years now, and had two confirmed pregnancies on them. I'm 23 weeks at the minute, and got a faint line at what I now know was only 3 weeks.

They're so cheap I always have a stash! POAS addict blush

Also agree with the other poster about tesco own brand. Good luck!

HettyTurner Wed 08-Feb-12 20:38:25

Did you do the same brand, or a different one? My 5 pregnancy tests sat in the kitchen all look like this now, but when I first did them there was a solid line.

Did the line come up within the time limit? I had an evap line in december where it came up BFN and i left it on the side and later that day there was a faint line.

rightontime Wed 08-Feb-12 16:24:35

FWIW these are the only tests I use now because from previous experience a faint line is a positive and it is almost impossible to get an evap. I will not use any other brand except maybe a clearblue digi but only after a positive result with these.

rightontime Wed 08-Feb-12 16:18:57

I hate to say this hun but looking at the pic I would say that is an evap. I had a similar line on a sainsbury test which was negative. The line must have the same shade of blue along the width of it. Your line is darker on the left which to me suggests evap. Sorry. sad

Emsgale Wed 08-Feb-12 08:24:21

I personally havnt but maybe see the doctor?x

Marina01 Wed 08-Feb-12 08:21:58

Did another test this morning and now negative!! this happened to anyone else? very confusing!

lalabaloo Wed 08-Feb-12 07:46:46

That looks very much like a positive to me, if you want more clarification tescos own brand give a nice reassuring line x

thejoanwilder Wed 08-Feb-12 01:24:20

I found the ones with the crosses to be the worst quality wise, but if a positive = a cross, then congrats smile

Marina01 Tue 07-Feb-12 22:30:59

yes will certainly be doing that! no doubting when the words are in front of you!!

Snowboarder Tue 07-Feb-12 22:28:21

Ps do a clear blue digital tomorrow if you can get hold of one and put those nagging doubts to rest. There's nothing like having 'Pregnant' spelled out to you!!

Snowboarder Tue 07-Feb-12 22:26:21

Definitely a positive test IMO. I got one just like it and my DS is now 10 mo. Congratulations!!
