Water birth or not? Anyone having their baby at Russell's Hall Hospital?

Hi Ladies,
I am 35 weeks pregnant and naturally I am thinking about the forthcoming labour. I am deciding whether I would like a water birth or having my baby on dry land with an epidural. If I have a water birth can you have an epidural if things go wrong?

Anyone got an experiences of water births at Russells Hall Hospital? Or epidurals for that matter.

Bumping as not in your area

But no, no epidurals in a water birth I'm afraid.

Good luck.

Only allowed gas & air in water but if you need something stronger you can have it & they'll take you out of the bath. I'm also thinking about water birth so I would also be interested in other ladies views/experiences....

hi, i know quite a few women who have given birth at russells hall. one of them had a really positive experience with water birth (got in, easily laboured in there and baby born in there with no problems) another wanted a water birth, and laboured in the pool, but hit some complications and they got her out to give her stronger pain relief, and keep a better eye on the baby. basically, i think they are very flexible, i'm hoping to use pool, but i'm open to intervention if necessary (whatever is best for me and baby at that time-u never know till things happen!!!) they both said the staff were amazing.
