24 week midwife app

Hiya I'm off for my 24 week check up with the midwife (although I'm 25 + 3 weeks) today, havnt seen her since my 16 week appointment which was rushed & unhelpful! Just wondering if the 24 week appointment is given a little more time - I'd like to discuss a birth plan etc or am I in for an in and out 3 minute check like the 16 weeker?

Thanks Hayley x

It'll probably be quick tbh. On my notes, the talk about birth plans and things isn;t scheduled til the 34 week check.

Bit early for birth plans at the moment. It will probably be a quickie

all my midwife appointments have been 5 mins in and out job. BP, urine, babies heart rate and measure bump. All very dissapointing. Feel like i'm missing out on something and it doesn't help that i've seen a different mw every time i think. Got one next week where i'll be 35+5 so i'm hoping there will be more too this one. Haven't even discussed birth plans etc and I had to request which hospital I wanted to give birth in and i hadn't been given any info on either of them! But got my first anti natal class this week so hopefully more info will be dished out there!

Thank u, it's not really birth plan questions as such, but I want to change the hospital I'm booked to deliver at. Last time I didn't get to ask a single question Sad

Just ask her to change it - it is simple enough, you don't need to justify yourself to her as it is your choice and no skin off her nose - If not just give her office a ring and ask them to change to change it, it is just paperwork

Try asking about it as soon as you get in rather then waiting patiently until after the midwife has finished doing all her checks. If you keep you sleeves rolled down and ask politely at the start of the appointment then she will have to answer before you let her do your BP.

All of my appointments have been very rushed in and out in about 10mins in 35weeks now and still no mention of birth plan! I asked and got told to google it for a template on the boots website!! Was not happy! But I would deffo agree and say take a list of questions and don't leave till you feel happy that all has been answered.
