Hi,

Bit of background, had a baby almost 4 years ago went into prem labour at 7 months and baby died due to placenta abruption. Got pregnant almost straight away and had DS 11 months later who was 4 weeks prem, he is now 3.

Due to my history I have to have scans every 4 weeks to check baby is growing well, and have already been told will be induced at 38 weeks. Had a scan last week and they said that the baby's growth has slowed down slightly and this has freaked me out a little. Am being induced on saturday, and im terrfied something will happen before then. Baby is moving a lot still though.

Has anyone else been told this and everything been ok? Been on Dr google and scared myself slightly!

Sorry to hear what youve been/going through :( How far along are you now?

With my first baby i was induced at 37 weeks because scans showed she stopped growing due to the placenta failing, i didnt realise how bad it could be at the time (and glad i didnt or i would of been going out my mind with worry like you are now) and my baby was a perfect 6lb 2oz in the end. Im now pregnant with my second and getting monitored. The fact that they are monitoring you means you will get well looked after and im sure everything will be fine with you and baby so try relax and look forward to meeting him/her :) good luck!

Im 37 weeks now, when I googled it said all about the placenta failing thats what has stressed me out!

Originally they wanted to rescan me in 2 weeks until I reminded them I was supposed to be induced at 38 weeks anyway so they are scanning me on Thurs instead.

They shouldcheck the blood flow through the placenta to make sure it's working effectively at the scan.

Yes they are doing a doppler (have had these all the way through anyway, just not the last scan for some reason!)
