7+2. Is it okay to live on crisps and extra strong mints?

Report

I hope so - crisps are one of the few things I really feel like eating and doesn't try to put in a repeat appearance. Nice. Not tried the extra strong mints though!

DH wants pizza for dinner. I don't know if I can manage it hot but cold might work.

Extra strong mints rule. They mean you can't smell anything else for up to five minutes, which is only a problem if mint makes you gip. Which it might.

bleurgh salmon. My nausea kicked in at 7 weeks and its getting better but some days its as bad as ever. I'm 10 weeks today. I struggle to eat dinner and prefer grazing. I'm living on toast, bagels, cereal, bacon and potato scones followed by trifle. YUM!

AstroNess · 12/10/2011 21:52

Oooo trifle...that sounds good.

I am 8 weeks gone. MS started 2 weeks ago and it is horrendous. I struggle so much with fluids and never know what to eat. Before I get out of bed a nurtrigrain bar tastes good and lies ok but afterwards anything else I eat makes me feel worse. I was slightly underweight before conceiving so this has been a worry. I am now on antiemetics and a nutritional calorie laden drink prescribed by a dietician. Soup and tinned spag bol seemed to go down not too badly but I find after having something twice I can stomach it never again.

Perfect pregnancy with my 1st sickness wasnt to bad and left at 12weeks, this one has hit me like a ton of bricks including SPD now too! Hope everyone starts to feel better soon! Anything dry and salty seems to be a cure for me ... for a short time hehe! x

Yeap, normal. You might want to buy some Nappy sacks as vomit bags, because I used to from first tinge to vomit in less than 1 minute (I'd have to run to the bathroom, and in the car it was disastrous). I never vomited when driving, and found smells sent be off badly, but mainly food ones (bleach and manure actually helped).

smk84 · 20/10/2011 20:56

that's a good idea about the nappy sacks as I had a near disaster in the car today. Only just made it home in time, didn't have time to shut the front door so any neighbours nearby probably had the pleasure of hearing me (and hardly anyone knows I am PG yet !)

If you can eat crisps and extra strong mints that is more varied than the crisp only diet I followed for a couple of weeks. Seriously though if it is really unmanageable go to the doctors and get anti sickness tablets. They did definitely help me. I'm 29 weeks and now inly get the odd wave of it. With my first I was fine by about 16 weeks but both I started getting better at 10.
