Hi there,

After much deliberation, we decided to TTC. And lo and behold, I'm pregnant again. I'm excited, nervous, worried about the impact on DS's (2) life. DH and I have decided to keep it to ourselves until after the 12 week scan (if possible!), so I thought I'd share with you as DH doesn't think about it constantly like i do (I guess it's so early so it's not so real for him yet).

Any advice about second pregnancies, impact on first child etc would be appreciated. I got pregnant quickly both times, so I am also worried my luck will run out (loads of family and friends have had problems)...

Hey I'm pregnant with my 2nd baby to, and my son is also 2 years old. I'm 12 weeks and nervous about how he'll react but I think he will be quite mothering. Does ur 2 year old know much about babies? Iv told mine that there's a baby in mummies belly and he understands, I'm also getting him to practice helping me with a baby using a teddy to feed it and cuddle it and kiss it. He is very boisterous tho and loves being centre of attention. We're trying to get him used to not being centre of attention before baby comes as then he myt not dislike the baby as much for taking the attention.

Hi MumT1,

My DS also likes to help out, and has been dressing his teddy bears etc. Putty nappies on them. I have explained about babies, as a few friends had babies or are heavily pregnant. I just don't want to ruin his world as he loves be the centre of attention too! He is also a Mummy's boy and I'm a SAHM, so we are trying to get him used to not getting my attention immediately etc. too.

Thanks for your reply!
