Just out of curiousity really, (as v bored and irritable now!) I'm nearly 35wks and had what I think was part of a show a couple of days ago. Also been getting LOTS of v v strong braxton hicks, (some are a bit painful.) Obviously don't want to go into labour just yet but would quite like to in around 3wks as sooo mahooosive, uncomfy and fed up! Just wondered if any of you had similar thing so early and if it affected when labour kicked in?

I had a show at 37 weeks and contractions on and off for 3 weeks before DD put in an appearance at 39+6. I guess its a good sign that your body is getting ready for labour.

I had a show at 35w with DD1 and constant BH, was induced at 40+5 and DD1 was born ing a short sharp 7 hour labour.

I have been losing my mucous plug since about 30 weeks, but there is no blood in it. I didn't lose any blood in it or have painful braxtons. If your bit of show had blood in it, then you should contact the midwife.
Are you dehydrated? Try resting for a bit on you left hand side see if it helps.
Are the contractions regular?
Just ring the labour ward if you are worried.

Thanks girls! The Braxton Hicks are v strong and quite regular but I had the same with my last DD for almost the last 6wks. Was just the combo of the BH and bloody show that made me wonder!
I guess there really is no knowing how long I'll wait now but at least these are all good positive signs that my bod's getting ready! When I had my 3rd DD, (this is my 4th baby,) when labour really kicked in I had two hours before pushing her out! (This worries me a bit as DH works a good 2hr drive from home!!)
