Pregnancy

Massively TMI but I have to ask...

I am 34+5 and thought I'd make a start on some perineal massaging today. Sits down in front of a mirror and have a look for the first time and I have what I can only describe at 'fanjo tonsils'. I am hoping it is the remnants of my hymen as it is two stringy sort of dangy bits, one at the top of the hole one at the bottom.
Don't think they were there before but I could be wrong. Is it possible that all the pressure is making things move around a bit down there and they were always there, just a bit hidden before?
I'm mildly disturbed by this, what are your thoughts??

Could it be varicose veins in your vulva? I've read that they might appear. I'm 30 weeks, I'm just weirded out that I can't see my pubic hair any more.

Fanjo tonsils is my new favourite term.

Seriously op, unless they are causing any pain they are probably just part of your normal bits.

stripey I guess it could be, really don't know! They are totally painless, even when I squeeze them or whatever they don't hurt. Most bizarre.

Pregnancy has made me really good at overshare - my poor dh will prob never touch me again when this is over and I'm uite sure I've given him nightmares!

Yes they are vulval varicosities. I got them too. Scary aren't they. Thankfully they do go away once the baby has been born.

wurg i thought it was inspired too! Was rather proud of myself Grin
I'm not a massive worrier or anything so I'm happy to leave them but it is a source of curiousity for me and mn never ceases to amaze me so thought I'd put it out there and see what you ladies thought.

have googled and am not sure that it is that after all - especially as they are painless and not blood filled or anything. hmm, most odd Confused

Nah they do look exactly like you described. I waddled off to the GP and showed him Grin And he confirmed that was what they are. Mine were entirely painless too.

Or it could be some sort of rudimentary escape slide for your baby. Pick the explanation you like best Grin

escape slide works for me, it suggests fun and ease an absolutely no pain! Grin

Thanks for clarifying that yours were the same- I can stop googling now and bringing up all kinds of images I just don't need to be seeing!

Is it wrong that I'm jealous of your fanjo tonsils? I don't have any :-( yet...

oh bless you Lizzy you must be having a bad day if you are actually hankering after my fanjo tonsils. P.S. Have you checked lately - they could well be lurking in there somewhere! Wink

Totally agree, fanjo tonsils are inspired. Not to the extent of wanting them:)

I seem to comment on all fanjo related threads so may as well add here that I have fanjo tonsils too but mine are defo hyman remnants. I'm thinking of asking for them to be chopped off when I'm in labour!!
