Hi, first time mum, 3 days over due now. Been having cramps on and off from lunch time, and now getting tightening cramps that are bearable ever 10 - 15 mins apart.

Or am i wishing labour on ??

Thanks in advance

It possibly labour. Can you sleep/rest through them? Conserve your energy?

They will become stronger as the morning comes and become unmissable if they are contractions.

could be but you could be like this for days tbh. I was with my first. Get as much rest as possible! I'm around (also contracting) if you want company. Smile

Ooh exciting! My labour with DD started like this. I agree that rest, if possible, is the best thing.

moonface you're contracting? Eek! Smile

Kate the best advice I had was, in early labour, to do whatever you would normally do at that time (within reason).

So middle of the night - sleep, rest, stay calm & in dimly lit room.

Daytime - cook, tidy (sorry, not trying to be sexist - just thinking of how my own mat leave is panning out!) or go for a walk, supermarket for some bits if bearable.

Thank you very much for asking Moonface. I'm disappointed to announce that it was a false alarm! Only due today so there's lots of wishful thinking involved. Hope it's soon and that you've set the example for all post-Oct 6th babies!

Im still here! had pains through out the day, not much sleep either. Pains been getting stronger as the evening as gone on but still not regular :(
Trying to rest but its easier said than done when the pains come on.
Thanks everyone and again huge congratulations to Moonface :)

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in my reply.
I had a beautiful baby boy early hours of saturday morning, 8th oct.

We went to hospital at 1pm on the friday because i thought my pains were bad - the midwife there told me i was only 1cm and she sent me home with a painkiller and told me it'lll take another 24 to 48 hours!!
I went to bed when i got home and stuck it out till 1am saturday morning when my boyfriend rang the mat unit and told them we was coming back.
on the way there i thought i needed a number 2 and i really didnt care at the point if i made a mess of my pants !!
We got in the labour room at 01:20, i went straight to the toilet where the midwife pulled me saying saying 'its not a poo, its your baby'. The next thing im on the bed pushing ... Alexandros arrived at 01:39 ...... with not even a pain killer in my system!!!!!
We was in total shock at how quick it all happened.

We are now settling into parenthood and i cant beleive how amazing it is.

How are you mixedberries???

Moonface how you doing with your baby girl??

xx
