Sore belly in bed

Hi all
I'm 17 weeks tomorrow. Not got a bump as such, well not that you can see under my fat bits!
But when I wake up in the night I am finding I have quite a sore achy belly, I change position and it's fine, just a bid odd. Anyone have this and any tips to stop it?

From about 12 weeks, I have hugged a pillow every night without fail. It moulds around the bump, and if I roll over, it comes with me.

tbh, its now a habit I a thinking I might not be able to break once the LO arrives, yet Ive never done it before.

Give it a try?

I second putting a pillow under your belly. It really makes a difference.

Thanks!

Think it might be time to invest in a nice long pillow for under belly and between knees.

Very sexy!

i bought a small wedge shaped one and its great, wish I had bought two though as I like having something under the bump and something tucked under my back (I lie on my side)

I have a massive U-shaped one that i can put between my legs and under my bump, and also it supports my back so I don't fall over onto my back in my sleep. I really found it tricky to learn to sleep on my side as I always slept on my tummy and back before.

The one downside is that it doens't leave a lot of space for DH who is now squashed into the wall... grin

I found from 12 weeks until about 20 weeks I had the same pain. It's maybe the ligaments stretching and the bump not being support and so that's why it hurts. It was as if my bump was hovering in mid air! I also used a pillow just to give the whole thing support. I don't need a pillow now at 26 weeks but have got used to having one to cuddle and stops the husband rolling over onto me.

Definately get a pillow.

First time round I only discovered the relief it brings at about 34 weeks - i'd suffered for so long!

This time pillow came out at 8 weeks, between the knees - SO comfortable!
