Pregnancy

When will I start to feel uncomfortable?

Evening all
I'm currently 27w4 and have felt really quite well all through my pregnancy but now I'm wondering when I will start to feel uncomfortable.
I find bending down hard, not physically, but because I can't breathe when I do (I find squatting much easier) and I walk slower (even though I've yet to gain any weight at all but then I weigh over 22stone anyway!) but that's it really.
I do a physical job (I'm a carer) but I go on maternity leave in 4 weeks time, not because I feel I need to but because I didn't know what to expect and thought I might be knackered by that point. At present though, I still have a lot of energy.
So I'm just wondering really, when things will start to get uncomfortable.

Well, I am sure everyone is very different, but for me it is this week: I am 29+5, and for the first time this week started having problems with sleep, feet started to swell up a bit + getting a bit breathless.
Obviously, bending down is hard as is going up the stairs... It is not too bad yet, and not all the time, but I have my moments... Grin

I'm 24 weeks and have been feeling uncomfy for a while, so I guessitvaries person to person.

I didn't really start getting uncomfy and tired until about 35 weeks, but had a desk job which helped. I was fine before then, but at that point it felt like my pregnancy hit me like a brick wall! Everyone is different though, I had a very easy time until then.

I felt a little slower at about 29 weeks but didn't really start to feel uncomfortable until 34 weeks. Was pretty much OK until 39 weeks with DC2 though

So perhaps having my maternity leave start in 4 weeks was a prudent decision. I can't imagine ever feeling uncomfortable in pregnancy, am sure it will take me all by surprise (as will the baby).

I went from comfortable to uncomfortable overnight at 34 weeks, this is my second pregnancy and with my first I felt fine right up until week 40 - I went 8 days over and those last 8 days were the worst - I was huge.

Hi, I finished work at 28 weeks ( was on a contract covering another primary school teachers maternity leave!) so can't say how I would be feeling if I had continued to work but here are my thoughts.
I undertook my dog walking duties all through my pregnancy up until 37 weeks when I finally admitted defeat as the poor dog was walking about 1/2 mph lol. Otherwise i don't really feel uncomfortable as such ( am 39+2) now, I've been attending aquanatal classes and general swimming and joining DH on extra dog walks at the weekend especially designed for my new slower pace lol.
Getting off the sofa takes a minute longer but that's about it!
I'm 5th 10" with a lovely neat football bump plonked on my front so think that helps, a few friends are shorter and can't drive now as their bump is in the way.
I've only suffered from heartburn which I've never had before and mild back ache( a little worse since baby has decided to lay back to
Back!)
Id advise to keep as active as possible :0)

By 36 weeks with DS I had had enough and was so glad to be stopping work. This was mentally and physically. He was born 41+1 so by the end boy did I struggle.

Am 30 weeks with DC2. So far I'm ok, just heartburn and get tired running after DS. Plus sleep is getting harder!

It all depends on the individual and external factors. Just be happy you are not part of the group who feel uncomfortable from day one.

I started to feel really uncomfortable after 30 weeks when my body really started telling me to slow down. i still get annoyed when i realise i can't walk as fast as my brain is telling my body too.

In my experience it creeps up quickly. For me, up 34 weeks was fine (big and some difficult sleeping, but generally ok).

But by 36 weeks I was dead on my feet and really struggling to do stuff. Baby has grown quickly and the uncomfyness has just gone up a gear. Im now 37 weeks and in the "desperate to get this baby out" mode!

I'm 31 weeks and just started feeling uncomfortable, but then I'm measuring 36cms so am the size of 36 weeks.

I can't remember exactly but I think it was about 37 weeks. I still felt well but increasingly unwieldy!

I don't think I did until the end. I finished work at 38 weeks.
