I know it's not necessarily a sign that things are starting, but on Tuesday I lost my plug (lots of bloody mucus). Braxton hicks since then (I didn't have any before this).

Please please tell me this means I'm not facing 5 more weeks of this.... am 37 weeks, have ECV booked at 39 weeks as baby is in breech, although i'm on on all fours trying to help him turn!

mum - went into labour ward on Tuesday, but was sent home. Had a scan on thurs, they said if I go into labour I have plenty of time to get to hosp as it's my first (consultant said 8-12 hours!), and they'll do a c-sec.

My show was the start - latent labour started straight away, and DD was born 15 hours later. DC2, though. DC1 was induced.

Show at 5.30pm, contractions started at 6.30pm, waters broke at 4am, DS arrived at 6am.

But my friend had her show 2 weeks before her waters broke, then contractions started 24 hours after that.

Sorry - not a great help to you

When I was 37+1 on Saturday morning I noticed little bit a show and called the hospital. They said to come over when I can so they can check if my waters were "leaking" and they were.

They told us to come back the following morning around 9 for induction if nothing had happened before that.
I went to induction ward but before I even saw the doctor my contractions started, that was about 30 minutes after we got there.

My son was born (37+2) at 4pm on Sunday.
