I just want to meet some other mums really.I did the antenatal classes 5yrs ago in another town and met a nice group of mums but we all live miles away from each other now.
I feel a bit odd going to classes when i am on child number 4, i did class last time as my elder 2 dds are much older and i had pretty much forgotten everything.Would it be strange to do them again just to meet other mums?

If you can afford it then why not?

Alternatively you may find a yoga group or bumps and babies group better. Less teaching more chat!

Check out your childrens centre too. I have been to a breastfeeding support group a few times now- once with a friend which was nice as a chance to meet the group and another time for a mini first aid session. Will now feel more confident to return when baby born as sleep deprivation normally makes me a bit wary of new situations.

I'm doing maternity yoga for this reason even though i go to a regular yoga class its my 3rd baby but my last has just started school so would like to meet mums with babies of a similar age. I don't think i could bring myself to go to another NCT class.

NCT do refresher classes for mum's who already have children.
I too was pregnant ( unfortunately it was Ectopic) and booked onto their refresher course as my two children are both at school now so wanted to meet mums with babies so my baby would have friends of the same age.
If you go to the NCT website they have lots of info and you can search refresher courses in your area.
I will be booking on to one again if all being well I have a healthy pregnancy when the time comes Smile

I wouldn't pay for the classes just for this. Do bumps and babes or NCT coffee mornings instead.
I did Bumps and Babes group with dd3 as like you my other dc were quite a bit older and I never met anyone who had young dc!

I'm in 2 minds to be honest! I did NCT (and am still involved as a volunteer) but found the classes a kind of "necessary evil" to meet the 7 other lovely couples who I am still good friends with over 4 years later. In that sense I can see how you do get a really nice bond and made me feel like both attending the classes and the cost were worth the effort.

On the other hand, if your local branch is pretty active, you might find you can get just the same via bumps and babies, nearly new sales... I'd look on the website if I was you to see just how much of a local presence they have.
