Help - back pain!

Am 26 weeks and hurt/pulled/twisted (who knows) my back the other night as I got out of bed. Really painful all the next day but felt a little better yesterday daytime. Got much worse last night though. Have not slept very well and now am so tired and still in pain.

What can I do? I can't get comfortable sat or lying down.

Are there any exercises I can do, even now, to help strengthen my back as I can only imagine it will get worse as I grow.

Bump has just has a big growth spurt.

I am usually really very fit and active :(

Feeling a bit sorry for myself (lets blame hormones)

Try and strengthen your thigh muscles so that your back isn't doing all the work (google clam exercise) and do pelvic floor exercises, they should help. Otherwise paracetamol, rest and a couple of sessions of reflexology would probably help.

Sorry you're suffering, I got my lower back and hips sorted out, only to lift my rucksack awkwardly yesterday, so struggling a bit myself, its not fun!

Hope it gets better soon Smile

Try asking for a referral to physio. My back has been really bad so I went to see physio last night and he said I have sacroiliac joint disorder, which basically means everything is misaligned and we need to bring it back into alignment to make me feel better rather than just giving me exercises to do which will achieve nothing.
