7 weeks pregnant and fainted this morning while on the loo (how dignified!). This is my 3rd pregnancy and have never fainted before, has anyone else experienced this?

Yes! Although not on the toilet! I always feel faint / light headed during pregnancy, have quite low blood pressure when preg. Am 34wks with 3rd, and had trouble taking showers during 1st trimester due to suddenly coming over all faint (used to have to sit down in the shower to recover). I fainted in M&S coffee shop just after my 12wk scan (it was easter hols so packed, V embarrassing!). And I had a growth & placenta position scan last wk & almost fainted then too - combination of lying on my back for too long & a very hot scan room. They had to stop the scan, turn me on my side & feed me copious amounts of cold water. I did faint once during my 1st preg too - again, flat on back at dentist for too long. But I think its worse this 3rd pregnancy because I'm running around after a 2 & 4yr old & never really sit down...

My solution is to drink MASSES of water all day long (annoying due to toilet trip frequency!) but it does seem to work most of the time. Congrats on your 3rd pregnancy!

Ooh yes I passed out when I was about 6 weeks into my 3rd pg, actually before I knew I was pg. This combined with a couple of other odd things over a weekend lead me to the conclusion that I might indeed be pg. Passed out on the Saturday, took the test on the Monday.

Yep, I think I'm on incidence five of actually keeling over now, with lots of dizzy spells and having to sit down in cool rooms drinking water in between times, I'm 32+2.

It did happen to me a few times before I was pregnant though, I've got quite low BP at the best of times and if I get too hot my body just packs in and I fall down. Most dignified.

As Icravecheese said (me too btw!) the best cure/prevention is lots of cold water and keep snacks to hand IME.

Yes! And a lot of dizzy almost fainting spells like a heroine in a sappy Victorian novel. Is most Blush. Keeping cool, putting feet in air and coca cola help. Now 18 weeks and getting less woozy.

Yes! On my third pregnancy too, and suffer from low blood pressure early on -between 5-8 week I fainted about 4 times - the first when I was standing doing the veg for sunday lunch - my poor 6 yr old DS thought I had died!

Standing for long periods is what does it for me - blood pools in my legs and then next thing I know I am waking up in a sweaty heap with worried people looking at me. I am actually ok if I am walking around, but the best thing is to lie down quickly if I feel an episode coming on, cold water, and fesh air both help....

My mum told me that fainting was always how she knew she was pregnant (this is before the days of early home pregnancy tests when you had to go to the dr after you had missed your period and then wait 2 weeks for the results).

Went dizzy yesterday, but didn't faint (thankfully). Being extra careful now!
