16 wks, felt a few flutters and now nothing

I'm 16+4 wks with my 4th pg. A few days ago I felt the first definate fluteerings and was really excited. It happened again a couple of times the following day but since then I've felt nothing. I've had a MC before so am already a bit paranoid and what with the sickness gone I just don't feel pg. Keep telling myself bay might have moved so it's harder to feel and it's still tiny. Maybe I was just lucky to feel it those first times as it's still pretty early. Appointment tomorrow but anyone else felt movements then nothing?

i felt flutterings about 16 weeks

then only occasionaly until 18 weeks, going many many days inbetween sometimes.

Midwife told me not to worry /not to stress and they are still very small so if they move a bit you may not feel them. She was right and buy 18 / 20 weeks i was feeling things every day

Thanks! That's exactly what I wanted to hear :)

There's still lots of room in there!

I'm preg with number 4 and felt flutterings around 14 weeks, but it wasn't until 18-20 that they were every day. Now I'm nearly 24 weeks there's a def pattern to them.

Also had mc's (3, 2 this year) so appreciate the panicking. I bought a doppler off ebay and that has been my life line tbh.

Yup I agree. Felt flutterings only every few days initially so try not to worry.

Yes, first felt number two at exactly 13 weeks (!), felt it every few days since then - I'm now 15+2 and haven't felt it for a couple of days. Not worried at all - baby is tiny, tons of fluid etc., etc. Bet I would if I had the time to lie down in a quiet room for 6 hours and do nothing but wait! :)

Hi there, good to read your post as I'm expecting number 4 too and feel very little movement. I am 19+3! I felt the others very early on. I get the occasional "flutter" but certainly nothing more. I just feel like I am getting bigger! Maybe with subsequent pregnancies you are a little more stretched and feel less? Anyway, good luck and hopefully we'll be feeling bigger kicks in a few weeks!

Alpine I'm also 15+2 today :) are you on the February ante-natal thread?

I felt a few 'bubbles' a couple of days ago that I thought was baby and nothing since, I'm not worried though as I figure it's still really early on.

This happened to me felt baby move lots at 16 weeks then nothing paniced got the midwife to check for heartbeat called her in the morning saying I couldnt feel the baby. She told me it was unusual for me to feel the baby so early and that at this stange the baby moves up a bit cause getting bigger this is when I noticed my bump getting bigger. But if your worried call the midwife to check heartbeat if just to put your mind at rest thats what they are there for.

Hello coffee, congratulations! I'm not on the an thread - I was, but my laissez-faire attitude didn't go down too well and the first-timers (sorry!) Drive me mental with the 'oh my god I went to b&q, will my baybee die of paint fumes?'. ;)

I felt nothing definite until almost 20 weeks, but was told at my 20 week scan that I had an anterior placenta and not to worry. This basically means that the placenta is in a different position to normal (its not dangerous in any way) so you feel movements later than most other women.

haha Alpine that's fair enough! It all seems rather chilled at the mo so do pop back in to let us know how you're getting on!

I'm 15 + 5 and feel the odd flutter, don't worry the baby is still very small. I'm going for a gender scan on sat, can't wait!

Hi! Thanks for all your comments. Saw the midwife today and she found the heartbeat straight away. After a bit of blubbing, she said it was normal for movement to be irregular as it's so small and maybe the placenta might get in the way. I was so sure there would be nothing there but am dtermined to be positive from now on. I'm tempted to buy a doppler but know I'd panick if I used it wrong or couldn't find anything. Let us know what you're having moominsarescary, I've got 4 weeks to wait for my scan and no patience. Think I'll join the Feb thread to help pass the time! :)

My sister and friend both had one and said they were realy good but I suppose if you can't find it you would panic.

If you do buy one they both said the best is angel sounds , don't think they stock them in shops though, they both got them off the Internet

Mumnosbest, glad everything went ok with mw, I'm going to a private scan centre nears us. It's ÂŁ 40 but I'm impatient and this is going to be my last so we've decided to give it ago, also youngest is 25 weeks old so will be saving money as we don't need to buy lots of new things

I am 18 weeks at around 16/17 I felt alot of flutters and movement now im 18/19 weeks I dont feel as much (although as im typing this I can feel movement! Typical lol) I dont feel it as much as I did, I think like others have said this is normal, I also brought a doppler and dont advise to get one, it makes you worry more. I found it hard finding a heart beat and when I did it was 90bmp which made me worry, It turns out this was my own heart beat.

In my first pg I felt some flutters just before 16 weeks but nothing else till 20+. Anterior placenta was to blame. All worked out fine.

Mrsfoggie.
You may get a few more responses if you start your own new thread, instead of commenting on a thread that was originally started 6 years ago & last commented on nearly 2 years ago.

In answer to your question though, hopefully your dating scan will ease any worries you have and confirm just how far along you are
