Ring the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital and see if they'll check you over. I hope things work out for you. xxx

The only thing to do is ring GP / Midwife or Maternity unit and ask for advice. I would go for the maternity unit myself. I would assume you are panicking - try and keep calm and ring for some advice - lots of threads go up on here about this and often the bleed is not always what you think - keep positive and ring !!!
Best of luck xx

thank you i will phone gp now, i have not even told my bf as dont want to worry him, trrying to tell myself not to worry as i had a bleed at 15 weeks with my other LO and everything was ok.

cbd Tue 23-Aug-11 16:42:28

phoned the GP now they said they will get the on-call dr to phone me back ASAP as he was out on calls at the time, but i'm still waiting for the call back.

bigeyes Tue 23-Aug-11 18:58:35

Hi, hope youve had a call back and have an appt at EPU in the morning at least.

There is much else you can do unfortunately I know its very scarey, I had a big bleed with DS1 at 14 weeks and they never knew where from, they said it could have been a fibroid or cyst which are harmless to pg.

Finger crossed for you

IreneHeron Tue 23-Aug-11 19:04:35

CBD hope you're ok and being seen to now. Ring again if they've not yet called back. When I bled I went to the out of hours doctor who examined me. It didn't work out for me sadly but there are lots of reasons to bleed in early pregnancy and lots of them are harmless. Good luck. (I'm now due in October for DS2 so I had a happy ending after all).

pregnantmimi Wed 24-Aug-11 00:35:47

I had bleeding 5 weeks I called doctors had appointment and got scan later in the day firstly I called midwife and hospital which didnt help much so I just went into the doctor and the doctor called and sorted it for me. I had bleeding another 3 times after this and did the same thing and got saw the same day. Hope you managed get a scan and all is finexx

cbd Wed 24-Aug-11 10:07:16

I had a call back and said he would put in for a scan I should get a call by this morning, but if the bleed gets worse i'm to find my way to hospital to get checked out. unfortunately for me it did so ended up at a and e via ambulance, i've had a blood test done and the blood count during preg should be in the 1000's mine was only 175 so was very low for been preg. so cant have a scan just yet as it wont pick anything up. I also had a dr check the neck of the womb, and they said it was still closed, but with my blood count been low it could mean 1 of 3 things, i'm either less then 7 weeks preg, or having an ectopic preg, which they think is very unlikely or i'm having a miscarrage. I got to go back for another blood count on thursday nite and hopefully it will be higher.

Mabelface Wed 24-Aug-11 12:47:58

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. xxx

IreneHeron Wed 24-Aug-11 14:27:28

cbd Wed 24-Aug-11 19:46:29

thank you for your replies, i've had a phone call this morning i've got an appointment for 11:30am tomorrow for a scan in the EPU after they recieved a gp referal through voicemail last nite. so hopefully by the end of 2moro i will know exactly what is happening.

pregnantmimi Thu 25-Aug-11 01:46:21

you will prob have a internal scan this early stage hope it goes ok xx

bigeyes Thu 25-Aug-11 12:29:05

cbd how awful for you, fingers crossed.

cbd Thu 25-Aug-11 16:46:13

Well not good news so far, but i guess its not all bad news yet. had an external and internal scan done this morning and no sign of a pregnancy, so i'm back to square one,so i'm even 5 weeks or under in pregnancy, i've had a miscarriage or i'm having an ectopic preg. got to go back to epu at 9pm tonight for another blood count to see whats happening. if its gone down i've miscarried, if it only goes up a little bit very likely its ectopic if it goes up by about 60@ i'm pregnant just not as far gone as i thought.

bigeyes Thu 25-Aug-11 17:12:43

Oh cbd I went through something similar, I had cramps and bleeding last year at 5 weeks and had the same checks done, it ended sadly for us. But I did read that it can be too early for them to see anything reliable even with internal at 5 weeks. I did read of women having nothing on early scans then later one showed a fetal pole and heartbeat. I went for another 3 scans to check. My bloods showed the hormones had stayed the gone up slightly but not doubled as the supposed to.

I guess what I'm saying is there is hope but you may need to prepare yourself. It is agonising waiting for these tests/scans (((big hugs))). I found it so frustrating as there is nothing you can do. I will check back if you want to ask anything please do. So sorry you are going through this.

cbd Thu 25-Aug-11 17:26:24

Thank you for your reply bigeyes, it means a lot to know someone else knows what i'm currently going through, i'm just dreading the blood test 2nite as i hate needles. I'm trying to keep strong for my 3 year old son, as he doesnt know whats going on apart from mummy having a poorly tummy and having to keep going to the doctors this week

bigeyes Thu 25-Aug-11 17:50:18

I have a DS (5) who has kept me going and did back then, it is hard when you dont feel on form to play etc. My DS has been so many times before this pg and since the start with me for blood tests for various reasons.

I tell him they checking the germs/baddies have left mummie body, and make it all sound very nice but when I am in there I dont look and I talk to him, ask him about what he is playing with etc to distract myself.

Just remember theyve done it thousands of times, count in your head if need be to distract yourself. Take care x

Well had more blood taken last night had to phone up this morning for the result, not good news my blood count has dropped from 172 to 100 so looks like i've had a miscarriage, got to go back on saturday night for one more blood test.

bigeyes Fri 26-Aug-11 11:49:13

Sorry the blood test results weren't favourable. Sadly this is the order in which I went throught things last year. There may be other things you want to ask or talk about, I will check back. Even though you dont feel great and a mixture of things right now, you will be ok after a time. remember this.

I remember feeling so cheated (thereds a bit of a story that preceded my circumstances) and I just kept thinking typical for me it was too good to be true.

((((hugs)))) Thinking of you will check back later.

cbd Fri 26-Aug-11 17:13:07

Thank you, my partner has already said its not my fault, and we can always try again. i just keep reminding myself that when i was 16 doctors told me i wouldnt be able to conceive without medical intervention, and i have a 3 year old monkey bouncing around the house, and also i still managed to conceive again even tho it wasn't meant to be for me this time round.

katherine2008 Fri 26-Aug-11 17:15:51

Good luck cbd and there are some really kind chaps going through the same on the miscarriage and conception boards. Having had a mmc in December 2010 I am now 29 weeks pg, so there is hope, even if it feels a long way away at the moment. Take care of yourself x

bigeyes Fri 26-Aug-11 18:35:17

cbd its sounds like you partner is saying all the right things to try and support you. Its wonderful you have your LO and have achieved conception again if you were told that at such a young age too. There was a doctor on TV the other day with that Chantelle Houghton who emphasised there is an unknown nature to conception and there is always a chance.

I second what katherine has said mine was a mmc last year and I too am now expecting so there is hope, thats what I meant when I said before you will be ok hun x

I hope its ok to say, after looking up loads of stuff about my mmc last year, I concluded that its natures way of protecting you from a potentially unhealthy pg, but we know how cruel it can be. I suppose after time I was always relieved I didnt have to face any difficult decisions weeks later. Id ont know if this will comfort you it may in time.

Dont forget how great you've done after what that doctor told you, because you have. Look after yourself.

cbd Sat 27-Aug-11 17:42:10

Well I am back at the hospital for another blood test tonight at 9pm

bigeyes Sat 27-Aug-11 18:28:42

Well it sounds like they are being thorough. Finger crossed your count has gone up, they can go up in fits and starts, its never smooth line. I'll be thinking of you.
