38 weeks, painful braxton hicks, does it mean anything?

hi, I've been having braxton hicks on and off for the last two weeks along with labour type pains, since last night they have been pretty much regular varying between ten and five mins apart and still a bit painful, has anyone had them this regular and it not come to anything?

This is my second dc but with my first I had nothing, no tightenings at all and had to be induced by drip so I have no experience of my body 'getting ready'

Yes, I'm looking forward to at least two more weeks of waiting! I'm not optimistic that it means anything, it's just the fact that it's been so regular for the last 24 hours.

Totally, naive here... What's myn?

I posted a very similar thing in childbirth here

You have my sympathy, it's a right PITA all this waiting, and painful BH makes it very confusing.

Ahh, I didn't see that, it seems we are in the same boat, how many weeks are you?

Yes, it's so frustrating I just want them to get worse or or something to 'happen'

39 weeks and all has been quiet today. I've also had to accept the fact that it is very likely that the DSes will have birthdays within a week of one another.

All quiet here too. After 24 hours of pain every 5 minutes it's turned to nothing!

Wow bdays a week apart! Are they close enough in age to use it to your advantage? Joint parties etc...

Hi I’m new on this site.
I’m 38 weeks pregnant today and I’m due to have a growth scan tomorrow as baby has a bit of extra fluid but I’ve been having normal braxton hicks through out pregnancy and today they have been but close together before I had 3 one straight after the other but now they getting a tiny bit painful I’m getting pain in my back and my groin area when I get one I’ve just had another 2 straight after the other. Just need some advice what to do? I’ve been taking paracetamol as I’ve been getting dull achy pains anyway.

I'm being induced in 3 days and really nervous as I have bit of extra fluid and they said about I might have to have a possible c section but I can try natural first really nervous as the c section makes me anxious as it's surgery and your awake and I don't want and epidural. Does anyone know if you can be put to sleep as if I have to have it after trying naturally won't it be classed and an emergency c section?
