Pressure behind eye(s) on waking

I'm not sure if this is a pregnancy thing or not....

I am 35 weeks gone, and have managed to train myself to sleep on my left side quite well. However, the last few days I've woken up with pressure behind my left eye - it feels as though my eye has sunk into my skull, or maybe that everything around it is slightly swollen.

It doesn't hurt exactly, but makes me feel really nauseous and squeamish.

Anyone got any ideas about what may be causing it?

Goodness knows, but you get loads of weird things when you're pregnant (fellow pregnancy niggles sufferer here). Ring the midwife if you're bothered about it. Is it a headache/sinus pressure feeling or something else. You could always book an eye test too, are they free when you're pregnant? Glaucoma is eye pressure isn't it, but I don't know if you feel it like that (can you guess I'm not in the least bit medically trained Smile).

Is your eye red/painful in the day at all? Light sensitive?

The pressure in your eyes does go up at night. I know because I have a condition which is exacerbated by this. It's probably just more noticeable at the moment because you are spending all night on one side. Only pregnant women and the infirm do this! :o
