My brother's gf has just sent me video, not to be nasty at all, she's a lovely girl and we get on very well. But I am really offended! I am so hormonal it's unbelievable. Am I the only one???

Why post it again if it's offended you?

I just wondered if it's just me being over-sensitive and there is actually something funny in there or not. Did you watch it?

Nope

I remember feeling a bit like that about a very smug annoying pregnant work collegue. Everything was about HER, she could twist every conversation around to being about her and her pregnancy.
Not quite so funny now I'm pregnant again. My guess would be that neither of them have been preg.

tinky that's what i thought also. I can't remember ever having met a pregnant woman like that though, plus I didn't find it funny either!

not funny. But certainly true of my ex work collegue. I made a promise to myself when i was pregnant with DS that I would not talk about my preg to work collegues/ not close friends family unless they asked first as I had to remind myself that they weren't interested.

As if you watched it. :o That start made me cringe.

mmmh, am I horrible for finding it a little bit funny?

I would definately have found it funny before I got pregnant.

I guess I have a large sense of self irony. I certainly know that I've sat at home in the evenings wondering to myself why I have told my friends about my bowel movements that day - I bet they didn't want to hear most of my ramblings about pregnancy, but that's what hormones do to you. And they are friends, so they have to take it.

I say lets be smug and proud about it!

I didn't think it was very funny either, even though it's kind of true. Pregnant women can be very smug, but at the same time it's understandable. During my two pgs I thought of very little else and obviously some of that comes out when you speak to people. The two women in the video come across as somewhat smug themselves, as if they're the first people to ever noticed this.

Haha sorry but I did find that very funny, the lyrics were quite clever and although I have never heard of a pregnant woman like the one described I think it's prob best to assume these girls have never been pregnant and will prob be just as described when they are Smile although possibly slightly insensitive to send it to an actual pregnant woman!!!

I thought it was a bit funny too, I would be offended if anyone actually sent it to me though - would see it as a bit of a dig!

I do think it's a pretty funny song (You're just giving birth/You're not Mother Earth is a pretty good lyric to be fair), but if I was sent it when pregnant whether or not I was knarky would depend on who sent it to me.

Ha ha I thought it was funny - loosen up people, its a jokey song not a personal insult. I am quite tempted to send it to my friend who has just annonuced her pregnancy and is 12 weeks but going on some of the comments here maybe it wouldn't go down to well. (Maybe one pregnant women, i'm 33 weeks, sending it to another wouldn't be so bad though?)

I think it's funny. I definitely know people that go on and on about their pregnancy but when you ask them any questions all you get is "hmmm we know, but we're not saying".........

I think I would be offended if I was sent it while pregnant though.

Ok, so I can accept that it's all mostly down me to me being touchy haha!! I really hope I'm not like that, I don't think I am, I've never said any of those things they said, but maybe I do self-obsess a bit when pregnant Blush.

I mostly can't believe how much this has bothered me! I really do need to chill out Grin

The song isn't funny purely because it's inaccurate!

The smug tone these girls think they're hearing is actually piss boredom.

No, pregnant women are not thrilled to be asked for the 15th time in a day "when's it due? Do you know what you're having? Have you got any names yet?"

Can nobody think of something original to say for the love of bob?

sausages that's so true about the boredom. I am also bored with the 'end of October, are you sure? You look like you're about to pop / are you sure it's not twins / it'll be a big baby then' type comments. Angry

I'm 26 weeks with baby #3. I thought it was amusing, because i shamefully can remember being a bit smug when I had a newborn. About how I was going to be SUCH a perfect parent. I'm as good a parent as I can be most of the time. Sometimes I'm a bit useless.Sometimes my eight year old drinks cola. All the toys in the house are NOT made of FCS wood. (Son of a gun, they only make Power Rangers and Bakugans out of PLASTIC) My five year old watches a bit too much telly. I argue with my 8yr old occassionally.

This song isn't amazingly funny. It made me smile a bit. Don't think your brother's gf meant any harm.
