When did your morning sickness pass?

I have had terrible all-day and night morning sickness during this pregnancy that started at six weeks and during the seventh week became so bad that I could barely get off the bathroom floor and lost three kilos in just a week. The doc put me on tablets to ease it which generally took the edge off it so I threw up only a couple of times a day and just felt low level nausea and could carry on and go to work.

Trouble is I am only 10 weeks tomorrow and the nausea seems to have all but worn off. I have felt slightly nauseous the last few days but not really worth warranting taking tablets, although i have taken them for fear that it would get worse, meaning i have been left with no nausea whatsoever. I am really scared this may mean a missed mc as I thought the sickness was not supposed to stop till12 weeks? Does anyone have any good news stories of the nausea stopping earlier? With my first DC I did not suffer morning sickness.

I don't know the answer and I'm sure there are lots of different experiences out there. I'd suggest getting hold of the midwife team this morning and getting checked out to hopefully put your mind at rest. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I think it does vary - certainly mine was quite sporadic for a while, and stopped a few times only to come back again. I also had really good days and really bad days with it. I know some people who never had it, some who had it really easy and some who had a terrible time throughout their pregnancy.

Last time I remember feeling it was about 14 weeks - I'm 17 weeks now although do still feel nauseous if I haven't eaten for a while, but it's not quite the same.

I know it's hard because at that point it feels like one of your only real symptoms of being pregnant, so it can be a bit of a worry when it stops - but don't worry, it's perfectly normal for it to come and go and doesn't necessarily mean anything has gone wrong. It can't be long before your 12 week scan and I'm sure that will put your mind at ease!

i felt MUCH better at 14 weeks

it's to do with the placenta taking over some of the functions I think.

I had morning noon and night sickness all the way through my pregnancy and was still vomitting when I was wheeled in for an emergency c section, however I have friends who didnt have any sickness at all. I dont think that there are any hard and fast rules about when or if sickness is meant to stop. If you are worried go back to the doctor I would suggest, hopefully everything will be ok and you can just enjoy the fact that your sickness has passed!!!

Varies wildly, I had morning sickness till about twenty weeks although it wasn't as bad as the early days.

Quick tip it might be worth taking a pregnancy multivitamin with iron or some spatone. Although they say a healthy diet fulfills your nutritional requirements it's a bit difficult when you can't keep stuff down/ are living on carbs.

Everyone I know has been prescribed iron tablets whilst pregnant, which are awful, I'd top up now if I were you.

I had 24/7 nausea but no actual vomiting. I remember feeling that if I could just be sick I would feel so much better & that was the most frustrating part! Mine disappeared completely at 13 weeks to the day, which was great as it was just in time for Christmas & I could eat my dinner! Grin It can disappear earlier so please try not to worry - no pregnancies are alike!

With my first pregnancy I was ill up to and including the day I had him.

With this pregnancy I was very ill from ~5.5 weeks - ~8 weeks. However , I still felt nauseous enough after 8 weeks to feel confident that the pregnancy was viable if that makes sense. :)

When I say "nauseous enough" - what I mean is - I felt a touch-o-vile Wink - but not bad enough to justify taking my pills.

I also had no sickness at all with DC1 but this time around have had an awful time. Lost 11lbs in weight between weeks 7-10 and I was only 9st to begin with! However I am now 12 weeks and have not thrown up for 10 days and although I have still felt nauseous I feel noticeably a bit better every day. Today I felt almost normal! And had my 12 week scan today and everything looks perfect. So please don't worry - sounds like you are just about the same as me and I'm sure everything will be fine. You probably won't be able to relax properly until after your scan but in the meantime just enjoy feeling better!

Thanks everyone for their replies, I have certainly had my mind put at ease. I suffered some mild nausea yesterday so I feel as if it is tailing off naturally rather than having stopped suddenly which has also been a relief.

I felt sick most of the time from 6-14 weeks but also had a few odd days without any nausea - I think I had several in a row around the 10 week mark. Hope all's well.

Mine's just about stopped at 13 weeks, but I had a week's break at around 10 weeks. The hormone levels fluctuate, so expect yours to come back a bit before the 13/14 week mark. Have you got your scan booked in yet? That'll put your mind at rest... unless all this extra sickness means twins!!!

Am feeling waaay more positive today. Boobs seems to have suddenly gone massive. Was lying on DS's bedroom floor last night and realised I can also feel my uterus now. good symptoms! Scan in just under 2 weeks.

I was feeling exactly the same. Im now 14 weeks and although i have been lucky enough not to be physically sick the constant queasy feeling was awful-i started taking crab apple bach flower remedy and felt a lot better and able to cope with the day a lot better. I had bottles of juice with the drops in all over the house and work and it helped me feel a lot more at ease. Hope this helps you too :0)
