Period pain like crampiness at 7+2....

Is that "normal" (whatever normal is in pregnancy)? This has been happening pretty much on and off since a week before my period was due. It is not very sore, but more like slight crampiness before a period is due.

Yes I had this and so did my sister and friends. Think it's very normal. Felt like a sort of stretcching crampiness if that makes sense.

Whew.... Yes, a bit like that. This is my second pregnancy, but my first was in 2004 and all I can remember was the horrendous morning sickness and later on, carpal tunnel syndrome.

Thanks for your reply!

Hopefully you'll bypass that this time!

I've had this too, just a few days after finding out I was pregnant. I called NHS direct when it got really quite sore late one evening, they told me to go to A&E, so I naturally started to panic and think the worst. They checked me over but thankfully everything was fine, I had it confirmed with an early scan at 6 weeks. I've since had my proper dating scan and midwife appointments and everything is going fine. I do still get little twinges of pain but the midwife has explained that is just everything stretching out, she did say to keep an eye out for spotting combined with the pains. Two friends have also had similar pains. In short don't worry but mention it to your midwife. Take care x

I had it too from about weeks 4.5 to 7 (has eased off now at 8.5). Freaked me out but GP reassured me. I understand you don't need to worry unless accompanied by bleeding. HTH.

Totally normal!! The day before I found out I was pregnant I was sat on the floor with some female colleagues (no idea why we were sat on the floor!) and we were all whingeing about period pains. I'd been having them for about 3 days and that was the usual build up to my period. I found out the next day, totally by accident, but the pains continued until I was approx 9 weeks. I am reliably informed by a pal (who is an obs and gynae dr) that it is the uterus stretching and can be slightly more painful if you have a tilted uterus (also very common). This info did come too late (pal was away) and I suffered the stress of being admitted to hospital with ?EP
Still, all is well now Grin

Had early pg scan yesterday following the same pains your having. Worth getting done as put mind at rest. Pg is normal but found two sacs, one had failed Sad. The pain is still continued buy only get it few times day for 5 mins x
