Reasurance please girlies,

Just been to my 28 week midwife appointment today and i have a sudden drop in fundal height. Up until now i have been measuring 1 week in front and now i am measuring 3 weeks behind with no growth since my last appointment so baby has dropped right off the chart :(
Booked in for an emergency scan first thing tomorrow morning. Feel really scared. Was told on my 20 week scan i was having a chunky baby and plot right at the top of the graph. Why the change? :(

Fundal height isn't an exact science, it really could be something as benign as baby has moved towards the back so your uterus isn't being as stretched outwards/upwards as much IYSWIM? My cousin measured small, always 3-4 weeks behind, and still had a 6lb baby.

Fingers crossed everything is okay tomorrow, best advice I can give is to stay away from Google and be kind to yourself tonight x

I agree - fundal height isn't everything - I measure 2-3 weeks ahead and scan says my baby is very average (based on head and tummy size).
As CBear said - it may be as simple as baby has moved position. My baby was head down way before 28 weeks so maybe your baby has just moved that way.
Again try not too worry and it's good that they are doing a scan tomorow - not long to wait. Best of luck x

This happened to me. Everything following the mid-line on the graphs, dropped off at the 32 week check but was still "in the margins" and no growth at 36w check so then off the bottom!

I was sent for a scan and admitted for IUGR (Inter-Uterine Growth retardation). DD was induced a few days later as scan showed her to be max 4-4.5lbs but "normal" size head. She arrived at 6lb 2oz, with a (90th centile head) over 3 weeks early.

I had very little water and she was hiding. She WAS skinny, but also early. She never lost an ounce of birth weight - just fed continuously, and is now studying at Cambridge :)

DS weighed in 5 years later at 9lb 6oz!

I second what the others have said. I had this with DC3 - no growth according to measurements at around 28 weeks. All turned out to be fine - ended up with a 8lb 6 baby! Even the midwife said the measuring is very subjective - can vary from person to person measuring ect.

I guess if they are scanning then at least it will put your mind at rest.
